Actions not synchronizing properly between client & server

When playing, every ~1s it seems I get a character status (position, orientation, activity) update from the server but it’s often not close to what I’m actually doing. This causes a lot of jumping around (position resets), over/under-turning (orientation resets), and actions (like digging) take longer. (I’ve died due to not being able to gain or maintain targeting while moving around. Standing still doesn’t help much, often taking 5-10 seconds to correct for server over/undershoot.)

I’ve turned down my graphics settings to absolute minimum to no effect (although highest settings doesn’t seem to make things worse). Latency stays below 50ms. Speedtest says I have 150Mbps down and 25Mbps up. It doesn’t seem to matter which server I’m on or how long I wait around.

No obvious reason come to mind from what you’ve posted on why it should happen, unless your getting a very low frame rate. Some kind of local network spikyness could cause issues eg wifi or someone else is streaming. Also try closing all other apps too. You can non-full screen and look in Task Manager to see if anything is using lots of cpu or network.

Can you post a gist.github.com of the log file that should in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Turbulenz\Boundless\boundless_log.txt

Played a bit more. Resyncing happened less often, but with longer snapping distances.

boundless_log.txt

I get about 60fps. My LAN is wired for 1GbE (which I actually get locally). I don’t use wireless for anything but cell phones.

Also, here’s a video of my most recent session:

Probably best to download it rather than try to play it in a browser. 2GB, 1920x1080, 11m19s. My screen is actually 3840x2160 so the game’s debug text is legible, but barely. Included are general resource usage. PC specs are shown at the beginning. Towards the end, I open up another window showing the game’s resource usage. (The largish disk usage is probably the video capture software. It didn’t seem to affect game play.)
