Am I an eejit and everyone else new this already?
I only just noticed this a minute ago.
The atlas shows gleam as a bright spot when there is nothing in it!

Are you sure it’s not simply because on this specific world, you can see the gleam clearly at night from orbit or something?

I dunno!
You can’t see it in the daylight, so maybe it’s something like that.
If so, at least it is a bit of an indicator for those that wanna hunt gleam on new planets.

Hasn’t it been like that always? Surface gleam has been visible on the maps if it’s a large enough spot, and not under water.

Maybe, like I said I only just noticed and maybe others already realised.
Just never seen it mentioned before, and might come in handy.
True, I was just excited there for a moment that they added the heatmaps for gleam
The small spots, and underground/water have been my pet peevees.

I’ve never noticed it’s bright like this o.0
The lighting update made most emissive textures appear more emissive with bloom etc, maybe it’s that? I haven’t looked at it that closely recently.

Hehe this has been a thing since atases were first added back in EA… and is why you can see lights from settlements on the atlas / from other planets… it’s just that the player placed lights generally out shine the natural ones

Smartie pants. I knew you probably had, but by saying that figured you would post a link, therefore saving me time searching for it
