So this just happened:
I exited a portal, and was immediately run across the room into the power coils in the opposite corner. Through a line of workbenches, and at mach speed. The room is 3 x 3 plots, so 24 blocks square, and that corner is diagonally opposite the entrance. This auto-movement has been occurring for the last week, yet I can find no settings for it. I wasn’t even touching the keyboard at the time this happened. I went through the portal and stopped. Suddenly I’m dead (with that #@$&^%* penalty AGAIN.)
I am a pc player. I have a stable 50Mb symmetrical connection. I have noticed a lot of “unplayable connection” messages the last 3 days with rubberbanding, but that hasn’t occurred at all today. I have no logs in my ONT, router, or the ISP Port regarding connectivity issues. Everything is running, and has been, above the 50.
If you need other information to research this, let me know.
There’s an option for not allowing player movement when there’s poor connection. I don’t remember the actual name of it and can’t check since I’m not at home. But i play with my ping up in the corner and noticed it doesn’t always say bad connection even tho the ping is actually bad.

There is “lock inputs on unplayable connection” but you can still get burned. If you are doing something when the ping drops this will stop you from stopping, if that makes sense.
But if you don’t use it you can sometimes do things in the client that get undone or end up rubberbanding.
My connection is frequently a problem and either way it’s frustrating.

I died on the exo world this evening. I was mining. Deep in the ground alt 11ish. I’d put myself near a corner and stood up to get a drink from the kitchen. When I returned I was dead. In a different corner.
We’re you near any natural openings or even had any of the tunnel you were diggin with an opening to any where mobs could spawn? Because I had a hopper come mosey on over to me and blow up without me realizing till after the fact. So something of the same sort of thing could have happened
I dont think so, I’d been digging for a while and although I began my journey by falling into a cave; that was meters above and quite possibly a km away.
Edit: I was afk, so who knows, maybe I was visited by the huntress. Click click click
