Lol… fair… I think that came from it is all just subjective at this point… Hell. I (and I know almost all of us) just want it to go smoothly for everyone and none of us need more drama around it or brand new people leaving because of it.
Also not factoring in play time after level 50. Good observation.
But the Oortian backer gets a lot more than plots. You can’t just use plots as value here
There is nothing in the Oortian backer that is “more” in game beyond the “crafting” of the exclusive item and some exclusive looks. But, considering how they handled the “exclusive item” we have no idea what the other things mean. Plots is where it is at especially for builders.
We know we will get customizations via the exchange… so Oortians and Masters, etc will all not really be noticeable. At the end of the day we have a title but that means nothing really in game.
You have to look at what is of real value in the game and not other “general” stuff.
You are correct, Oortians do get more than plots. As a builder it is the one that was most attractive and now you could argue the value of this particular perk has been lowered. Am I quitting the game over it. . no. But to say the value is not affected by what might be offered in the exchange is disingenuous.
I didn’t say anything about it being less value or whatever, I’m only pointing out that there are other factors than just plots.
I’m not judging or commenting on the amount spent or what you find valuable about it, I’m a lowly adventurer tier I can’t even remotely afford that kind of cheddar (not even close).
I was only pointing out that measuring it with only plots is misleading, because plots are not the only thing you get. It’s just an observation, I’m not about to try to breakdown individual values of what you get in there its over my head
Indeed. I always keep an eye out for the opportunity cost of a cash shop as well. Few people feel good about being nickel and dimed. Pay for convenience can get to be more of a pain to pay for the services than the convenience itself. Its all a balance. I’m staying optimistic that it’ll turn out okay.
Being able to buy plots with cash is a severely bad idea. Its gonna limit player space and detract from new players, because no one wants to spend 3 real life days looking for the perfect plot for them, and if theres players already around it, theyre not gonna want to build there. With the implementing of a pay to live system, all of the ex WoW type guys with too much cash and not enough outside life are going to be able to buy up entire continents, and if were sticking with the planetary system we are, new players that start out in places like solum are gonna get turned off amd ask for refunds because of just HOW much space we can actually take up if given the tools to do it with, I.e. money.
I think the developers will add more planets as the population rises and also based on the amount of a planet that is claimed. They are saying it will be easy to add new planets once the universe is live so I would think this would address the issue.
It is a valid concern in my opinion.
Im hoping so, and from whats been stated; players will be able to own entire worlds (which im not sure is outside of just being the viceroy, but i figure thatll be revealed at launch). Thanks though man, i just know what its like to be late to the party; i mean when i hopped on for the first few times, i saw bigger builds, like the portal network; and legit thought they were just in game builds, but after realizing it wasnt; i realized a LOT of players, let alone teams had a huge jump on reserving land, and after scouring the land for what felt like hours on end, amd finding so many sweet spots with plots just spotted around them, not being used; i just closed the game and stopped playing for a while, and i deff dont want that to be the case for people a month late into launch. I feel like the beacon timer system does well for that sort of thing for occaisional players; but lets face it, this game’s gonna get an obsessive following for what it offers as a game.
I have over 1100 hours in game so I am one of the obsessed. . my last build was over 500 plots and I helped with a build that was over 4000 plots
If thats the case, then you and i deff need to link up when the new universe lands haha. Im a rather obsessive type of player myself, and while i dont have the hours to play, i work efficiently at least lol. I’ve also got a few city builds planned as well, so if you see me laying blocks around, feel free to say hey
You seem to not realize many of the players have been playing for years. Yes those builds were player made. The planets you came to didn’t even exist when some players started playing on other planets. Now we are getting a new set of planets. As populations go up planets will be generated automatically. We were told the system can support tens of thousands of planets so the universe can and will be huge. Don’t worry about running out of land or anyone having millions of dollars to buy all of it (which would only give them more money to get more servers and generate more planets on them).
400+ hours here. But then I started in a bit late.
