This info should probably just be announced across the screen for everyone in-game.

Of course wasnât it actually intended to not be announced and for us to find out by looking in the sky? But the players took matters into their own hands and decided to read api data

I know. The devs should add it to the game so everyone playing can see it.

Or broadcast it to a channel in the official Boundless Discord, so people know when to come in game.

I wouldnt mind a thunderous crack heard throughout the universe when an exo drops⌠and/or individually per account the first time you log on after a new exo is live if you missed the actual moment (but only once, wouldnt want endless big bangs going off if Iâm gone for a week hehe).
You would hear a bang, then see everyone scurrying home to go equip their exo raiders hehe

That bot should be banned.

Would it not be possible to hide this piece of code so that it can be a challenge or (lucky) surprise again to find a new exo?
How? and why?
That the bot was created is because there is a reason for it, people arenât always looking up to see if thereâs a new exo planet about.
Would just be a lot better if there was some in game notification so we know to look for one!

What harm is the bot doing? It is a tool to let anyone know that a new exo has spawned. There appears to be many players that are also just playing for exoâs right now and if you remove the bot they may not be logging in and we will lose even more players.

you could lump it in with the whole âmacrosâ discussion.
People have to use a 3rd party piece of software to get it. If they donât then itâs not fair access. Even though itâs generally posted to the forums, there are times when it isnât. People see this as unfair. Some see it as a cheat. Not different at all from the macros discussion. Perceived sunfair advantages, when in reality theyâre fixes to broken systems.

I think in this instance, it doesnât relate to any kind of broken system. There are existing mechanics in game so you can see exo worlds in the sky (although a spawn sound might be a pretty good idea)⌠the major difference here is that the discord bot notifies you when youâre not in game.
To be honest, I think the mechanic that the bot uses should be utilised by the devs ⌠they could be pumping out a notification to the official discord channel instead of it being on just one single guilds discord (ultimately getting more people that are not currently playing, back in, when an exo world spawns).

That and also an in game notificationâŚ

So we are required/need a 3rd party application?
I disagree that should happen.
If theyâre not going to stop it then they should just incorporate it in to the game.
We all know it tells you if youâre out of the game and thatâs itâs supposed benefit. It acts as an early warning for anyone though in or out of game. Put it in game so those who are actively playing and donât see the sky get the same warning

Players are already using a 3rd party application for the notification. If theyâre not going to stop it, the players using that notification will always have an advantage over those that arenât because they donât even need to be in the game at the time the exo spawns.
(Iâll leave that sentence in, even though your second paragraph was added after I was already typing).
Agreed. I was never advocating that it shouldnât be an in game notification - just that they could also be using external methods to notify players so they could come back in game and play more

And there is my main issue with the exo bot.
I agree it should be either on the official discord, or an in-game notificationâŚpossibly even made by an âobservatoryâ that could be built in beacons and alert nearby players.
