This is only true of a couple of the guild buffs.

I have a guild only to move money between my characters. I guess I’ll build it there like a bank! Should I also build something for my public chrysominter?

building safety (reduced fall damage and increased interaction range) is the one that needs guild beacons.
builders buff is the one that gives bonus block placement speed and chisel durability and it works everywhere

Ah, OK, I was talking about building safety, sorry. Forgot I was on the internet for a second there. 
Building safety is the one that I’d want to benefit from everywhere … for example … on a hunt … I think I can live with … actually, I actually can’t handle fast block placement and chisel speeds.
