Personally not a fan of casinos in game but not opposed, really. Big upside is it would justify LED blocks

I was thinking the same regarding the LED blocks. Could use them as a crafting ingredient as well. Add lots of customization as well.

A lot of people had such a bad reaction to imaginary “loot” boxes that aren’t really in this game…not sure they’d go for anything with actual RNG. As mentioned, the forge is already there lol

Gambling is okay when casino use coins --> another reward conversion.
Or when it’s managed by the game only (as money sink)
When it’s used for coins --> coins by players
You get so many issue most games choose to ban them.
Mostly because you get the reverse effect (badly hurt economy and trade).

I don’t like gambling in any game because first of all, it teaches younglings that gambling is good, but also, every game I’ve seen gambling in has faced huge problems of scams related to it, even when it’s “safe” gamble, someone will find a way around it to take advantage of others.

@james would someone making a casino/betting system with the current game mechanics be against CoCs? I can think of some ways to do it, just not sure if its appropriate for PG rating.
Indeed. And even for people who aren’t children or young in any sense of the word, it can be very problematic. Some people simply have compulsive disorders and/or poor control over their desires to a point where they can’t make themselves stop a behaviour even if they consciously acknowledge it’s bad for them in some way.

Why do people love gambling so much? Damn it’s ridiculous, that ■■■■ is a legit problem, I don’t understand why it’s encouraged at all. Get a dopamine rush when you win, then just play till you lose it all.
I get it’s a video game, but video games can still affect how you make decisions in life. They certainly aren’t going to make you a mass murderer, but they can influence your organizational skills and planning skills, as well as attention training. These things don’t discriminate against age
Don’t get me wrong, it can be fun sometimes to watch a slot machine spin, but it’s the tool of a person who profits off of the shortcomings of others. Not trying to be extreme, it just is what it is.
If it didn’t accept items or currency, but still gave mild rewards when you rarely won, like a stack of stone or wood or something, then it would be much more understandable

I rather see some sort of stock market feature in the game for people’s cities, shops, and overall way for a player to invest into someone’s project or shop to get some sort of coin out of it (potential coin generation as a percentage of the full ROI).
I am not really supportive of gambling style mechanics in games. At least it’s an attempt to suggesting an idea that’s interesting. Better than some of the other ideas I’ve seen, like taking all the footfall in the game and evenly spreading it out to all players.
