yessss… going to a lake or any other water source for it is just a pain in the unmentionables (and when one has a stack of water blocks it also seem silly they can’t be used)

As an alternative option, with the different variations in craft for example essence, possible to create new craft trees for items that require buckets of water to take empty buckets and blocks of water also to save having odd buckets of water floating around
