Creative mode cannot create character

Hello, I am trying to check out creative mode on my windows laptop and I am running into a problem. I started discovery server, started a world server, got to character creation, left all features at default, chose a name, clicked accept, and then it said “error creating character, please try again later.” in the discovery server window there’s some errors about hash mismatches and finally “mismatch mix of data on character 1”

i tried removing all files and reinstalling the game but no luck. i also tried on a different pc laptop. same process leads to same result. what am i doing wrong? please go easy on me, i am bad at math

Creative mode will be suffering from the same issue that hit the Live update. (Where players couldn’t create new characters.) We will need to rebuild the package and publish an update.

Can you confirm which version of the client you’re running? You can see this in the F1 debug details.

The code in parenthesis is 9e105bf4. is that what you are looking for?

Also: Is creative mode only for Windows? When I tried to see if I have the same problem with character creation on my Mac, I couldn’t get anything to happen after clicking ‘create’ for creating a new world. Here’s a gyazo of what happens on Mac. https://gyazo.com/13354cd83f75a5fed47d9f0a615b7d4a

My current version of the client.
I am unable to access Creative since yesterday
Cannot create a character.

I have the 9e105bf4 version as well. First attempt it went to character creation. Just tried again and it won’t connect. Character can not be found

Same… if I remember correctly, to be able to return to the character creation screen, i think I had to go to the local files and delete everything inside steamapps/common/Boundless/discovery/creativedb … but i dunno if thats a good idea if you have info you want to save

Looking at your prior screen shot, no thanks lol! I have just been using the debug menu to generate, delete and attempt to join worlds. It seems to generate them for me. Just after the first character creation attempt it no long gets that far into the process

That screen shot is for the Mac behavior… on Windows I can get all the way back to character creation if I remove the creativedb files. (on Mac, none of those folders even exist)

So I just tried it again without hitting character creation button this time. Making a new world, starting it and switching to creative, shutting it down and going back live. I can join the character screen more than once. As long as I dont ever hit create character it will work indefinitely. Soon as you hit that. It breaks the game

Yeah - sorry - this will be broken until we hotfix the game early next week.

You should be able to switch to Testing if you want to play with Creative. Not ideal but a work around.

Any chance creative will work on the Mac as well? Or is this just for windows?

The Creative prototype is just currently available for Windows.

It’s on the todo list to bring it to macOS.

Thanks. I will let my kids know they have to stick with the windows laptops for a while. I appreciate all your help!
