From he dev logs we were told only prestige crops (which arn’t in game yet) are the only ones that can wither and die

What I have noticed is that I can come back and a few plants are at the same stage as they were when I first planted them even though the plants around them are ready to be harvested. I know they can be hard to see at this stage so maybe this is it?
But throughout test and with 10 full harvests on live fields I have not had any plants disappear.

RNG on top of even more RNG…
Personally, because of this, I have found that fertilizer is not worth the effort in using on a large farm due to the extra RNG aspect of it causing heavy micromanagement for what feels to be not too much of a gain for that effort.
However, I can see fertilizer being helpful for small farms,
I feel there should be another Tier of Fertilizer that is more costly to make that lacks the RNG aspect to make it a little more useful for large farms. (1000+ plants), Or just remove the RNG aspect off of the current one if you are willing to consider that.

Yeah. I used almost a whole fertilizer for my farm in one go. Making more spray per fertilizer could help. Like double. Especially if you can lose it almost immediately.( Ie. leaving the planet and coming back. )
