hey, i used vanstens guide… i forged hundred of aoe hammers before with this method, thats not the problem… today ive started forging again…
cant get the desired boon up to 90 percent
got very bad quirks up to 10 percent…
used deconstruct 3 more than 250 pcs
lost elankatalysator 2 more than 40 pcs
lost draining comconents more than 300 pcs
costs without glue and paste more than 30000coins…for zero hammers…
that never happend before…
sometimes i have to deconstruct about 10 times when things went bad, thats ok…
but what today happend, thats not normal…
maybe other people got same problems…

i have no problems to forge dia hammers with my speed deck.
It’s been a while since I’ve forged but they did change the fact that stacking non diamond tools with diamonds tools no longer make the efficiency of the items that of diamond. So it’ll take a lil more I believe to get any other gem to the same spot as it used to.
I am with u. I forget some red hammers and I got magnet just repeatedly. It’s nuts u put a gums in and just get totally different boons. I won’t lie I really dislike how random forging is. Yes I have forged for awhile. Normaly dont have that much issues. Just recently used over 40 deconstruct purely because of the randomness of forging I can really u understand why people hate forging…I will continue with it. Just expressing my agreement to this topic
I’ve been doing 2 special, 2 effect, 1 stability 2, 1 fate 2, then 4 or 5 draining 1. Even on amethyst and topaz, that almost always gives me aoe and damage, then I just level them together and pray for busy bee as my third I’m sure it’s a simple method and all, but it works alright for me. Maybe 10 deconstructs for every hammer or so?
Did you try a mint green doll? I should’ve specified
Edit: until aoe 4, of course… then I vigor cat and use just an effect gum

You could try using boon removal instead of decon. It’s an awful feeling when you have 2/3 boons set and have to decon.
The RNG isn’t always kind to boon removal either, I think that’s part of the joy of forging though. It’s a little like gambling, and terribly addictive but at least with removal you don’t have to keep starting over. A lot of the time I end up with something usable/sellable using either method
Yea I have done that…I actually have done all types of forging. I decided to comment because forging is to random. Yes I can use boon removal…but even that u can end up with same boon u just removed…the whole forge thing is so random at times how can that be fun…don’t get me wrong most of my hammers are awesome and I don’t mind forging but it is too random
Its the randomness that I like. You can influence the forge but ultimately it is in control most of the time. It’s knowing what to use from your deck and when, and even then it’s a gamble.
I actually really like it, especially when I get a really good forge!
Dont get me wrong, I still get furious and shout at the forge when it gives me critical hit for the 5th time in a row
Yeah, I feel its harder to get AOE+Damage together. Can be bad luck, but I feel like it was easier. For defects, Quirks, I do not see much difference.
It can be I waste 100 of Decon Resins for a stack of 4 hammers… But I usually Stop earlier, give it a break, do something else and come back later. That seems to help often. Spamming it over and over is just burning the mats.
My “feeling” also is that the first forges I make that day go well with normal RNG, but doing more seems worsening the RNG in some way. Like each Deconstruction gives me higher level of a invisible “Forge Boon Debuf”
Personally i havent seen much of a difference… although i mainly forge non quirk/defect stuff.
All i use rly is
Pureboon compounds.
Gums
Fate paste
Boon removal solvent
forging has become a casino mini game the only way to really get what you want is fate paste that’s what ive resorted to to get decent aoe hammers.
I use DB1/PB2/PB1/FATE/BOON REM1/GUMS/DECON3/SETTING RESIN
Even going this route its still a gamble just not as large of one I hate forging since venerable update its horrible, I used to love to forge I wanted a forge shop but after this update dropped I almost quit and did stop playing for a long while now I just sell unforged tools and build stuff, I forge what I absolutely have to with a grimace if the devs wanted less forging to happen they achieved their goal by stripping the fun right out of it.
For quite some I suspected that the forging rng takes all kinds of little things into account. I’ve noticed for instance that when after a few good forges I suddenly get endless bad luck. Then I use a slightly different method or I forge something totally different with different mats that goes well, then go back to the hi end hammer stuff and it goes well too.
Like the game punishes you for forging a lot in one sitting or something. It wasn’t this bad a few months ago. Also forces you to change things up.
But I also just chalked it up to being in less of a good mood which means I notice the bad rng more…
