I just had an inspirational experience when having a small break out of my working place (Nightshift ). We have a railroad track about 500m away from the building and a slow driving train was breaking down making an evil surreal shredding and squiqing sound. Since here are big fields and nearly no trees between the track and the house the sound was even stranger due to the echo and wind blowing. It nearly sounded like a big screaming monster in the distance, so ā¦
What about real frightening soundeffects for big evil creatures that you only hear if they spot a prey ⦠a player? It could be loud enough to be heared about 100 blocks or more so that others also hear it. Would also be cool in caves or dungeons, especially when the creature spots the player before the player spots the enemy ^^ ⦠Of cause this would only fit to big threatening enemies, not the ācasual onesā. I thought about those kinds of guardians which only come solo and are hard to kill.
Yeah a territorial creature would be more fitting for an all out āroarā - something I imagine a ground basher doing (it reminds me a little of a gorilla).
I think ethereal creatures would be good for spooky noises as they phase in and out or go from cover to cover. Keep their prey on edge and not knowing which way to run.
The flying creatures could be a good one to add some scary sounds to as well. Upon hearing it, it would make everyone immediately look up and scan the skies for danger.
I think thereās plenty of potential to add some really cool / scary / spooky / bizarre sounds into the whole creature mechanic.
It would definitely be awesome if territorial creatures would make a noise to inform you that you are in the ādanger zoneā so you can decide whether you want to fight or avoid the creature.
For stalker/hunter I“d prefer it if the background music would just get really quiet and eventually mute while you get stalked by a predator, it“s way more subtle. - Hey why is it so quieFuuuu
ghostly creatures that hunt in packs and can turn invisible. they stalk their prey and herd it into a kill zone (inside a ravine where it canāt escape or on top of a cliff where it would be easy to push it off) one turns invisible until itās in the Ideal position. it appears in the direction that would scare the prey into the kill zone. once the prey is in the zone, they all appear and attack. they would never attack unless the prey was in the kill zone. if you move toward them when theyāre in scaring mode, they retreat.
it would make for an interesting situation where the safest thing to do would be to move toward the creatures instead of away. it would also be really spooky.
