Experiencing connection instability to some worlds

I dug into this issue tonight as the game is unplayable to me at the moment so I could do some troubleshooting. It appears my system is attempting to communicate with 52.55.25.58 which is part of AWS Compute. What I have found is:

  • Connections from my home in WA to this IP result in 700+ ms response times
  • Connections from a box in CA to this IP result in 60ms response times
  • When I break down the routing between my home and this server I am able to talk completely fine to the AWS edge of 72.21.221.120. I am getting 60ms response times.

To me this confirms this is not an issue on my side as I can talk to the rest of the internet fine and can even talk to AWS fine including unrelated capacity within EC2 compute clusters. My theory is there is probably one or more servers within their capacity cluster having issues or perhaps an issue in their ELB configurations/operations.

TLDR; This isn’t my issue it’s either AWS or Boundless both of which is out of my control :frowning:

To follow up on this. I killed all connections I had to boundless for 15 minutes then tried again and now I have no issues which could back my theory about my session being hashed to a bad instance and once that session expired in the ELB I was hashed to another one which has no issues.

Similar results as me.

im glad this didnt happen just for me but for other players as well. Yesterday i had trouble staying ion circarpous l and angel l that i constantly had unstable connection that leads to constantly kicking out for bad connection and im AUS based.

I never quit having issues. It seemed like there was a pause for half a day but since Thursday evening and all day when I tried yesterday it’s been bad. Now it’s impacting AUS worlds and not just EU worlds. Before I could do aus worlds with the same long as east coast worlds. For now I’m stuck to west coast only which makes the game not really worth logging in since I don’t have access to a lot of colors to farm.

have been combing pretty much all t1, t2, t3 and t4 planets last couple of weeks for certain goodies (shopping splurge!) and haven’t had any connection issues. Live somewhere in the countryside, Uk, with a paltry 17Mbps and boundless home base on Boori.

lol paltry 17mbps

I haven’t been able to play on European servers for about a week. I get the occasional unplayable connection on AUS and USE servers now too.

Same seemed it was working for about a day or less. I will make taking a break after Dodge bomb event. Cant get anywhere.

I have verizon, live in ohio, and have no issues connecting to any server group (or individual servers).

Yup, having issues again on all EU planets since yesterday.

I took yesterday off, and it sure isn’t working any better today. First, I couldn’t get home planet, so I had to buy a point in Portals just to leave the Sanctum. Later, home was fine, but trying to get to my DKmall shop kicks me offline.

And, I’m still on the same WiFi as a perfectly connected PS4. We have Comcast.

You can’t get to Tana? You’re in the US?

Yup. I’m on the actual West Coast, or pretty nearly.

That’s weird. Usually it’s people in the US trying to connect to EU servers who have a problem.

Anything the Devs can do server side or let us know what is going on?
