I tend to grapple myself above a pit of lava and boop them from a distance, then wait for them to run themselves right in.
Having an item with loot range, or simply using the grapple to reel the corpse in to shore, it’s quick to do. :stuck_out_tongue:

The delight of multiplayer games. :joy:

With agility you can get up to 20% base crit chance which still makes the crit effect boon worth it, but not as good as heavy weight, damage-wise (though the difference is relatively small). Only ruby and diamond bows benefit more from crit effect than heavy weight (with a max damage shotgun build that is).

I personally think heavy weight is great, especially on balanced and swift bows the fall-off is easy to work around on shotguns in my opinion. I generally don’t have issues reaching cuttles with the jump epic, and when I do it’s what my ranged fist swap-outs are for.

I’m a user of heavy projectile multi-shot bows myself but I do understand it’s not a style that suits everyone. Alot of the reason is probably due to the fact that I have terrible aim and the only way to ensure I hit what I’m aiming at is to shoot from point blank range. That and i like the fun and challenge of staying on the ground during a meteor, trying to kite and kill. Inevitably I end up dying from time to time either to Woodstock + stationary object damage or from kiting myself backwards into a lava pit or a hopper with his fuse lit, but that’s what revive brews are for and it’s what makes hunts fun. Swinging from a grapple and fighting with little to no consequence gets boring for me fast.

Being the biggest damage per shot you can get means that I one-shot alot of things and at most 3 or 4 shot the heavy armored or high health mobs and as a bonus I get to see pretty numbers up to 80000+ pop up on my screen which makes me smile.

I can remove stats like dexterity from my build altogether and have minimal points in agility as crits are no longer important which allows me to maximize defensive stats and splash out on quality of life skills like jump height and the grapple skills.

I must admit just how much fun it is using a rapid firing bow and unloading it into your target… what isnt fun is that it burns durability FAST and augments are destroyed even faster. Shotgun durability lasts considerably longer and I only need to bring 1 or 2 stacks of augments on a hunt and my bow is still in good enough condition for several more hunts meaning less time spent forging bows.

To overcome the disadvantages I use the increased projectile speed augments and I keep a single target bow on hand for the pesky scuttles that like to keep just out of my range.

But hey, every bow style has its place. And if I’m not on my heal bomb spec then this is the role I like play when I go hunting.
