This might sound creepy but I think it could work with the lore as well 
I was thinking of furniture/statue/bio-specimen with a size of 2x2x2 or 2x2x3 which will work like workbench as you combine 4 blocks to make one,and the size increases when combined with more blocks with a cap size i.e 4x4x6)
materials required will be hide/leather, creature trophies i.e wildstock eye to make wildstock statues
the color and texture will be determined by your materials(wood/rock/gem)
to one point I even had the idea of cryopreservation or sci-fi themed liquid preservation (using Ice/glacier etc to craft). I think thats too much though haha 
what do you all think?
