It’s just curiosity. People can mark down what they want, or not even participate. It’s not discriminatory. If they had “male” and “everyone else” as options, that might be, but they don’t. Choose whatever fits you, choose nothing at all, choose to not even see the results. This is just a “meeting the neighbours” sort of thing, near as I can tell.

There are two different ways of using the word

discriminate against (someone or something)
To impose limitations on a particular person or group for prejudicial reasons. Those who continue to discriminate against people of color will continue to meet resistance from those who believe inequality.

discriminate between (someone or something)
To recognize the differences between people or things.I have a hard time discriminating between Jim and Greg, but they are identical twins after all.You can discriminate between hydrangea and phlox by looking at their leaves.

I read @bregma’s post as the latter.

Ah, see to me the first definition is ‘discrimination against’ and the second is ‘distinguishing between’
Nothing wrong with wanting to distinguish which gender people are. But no one is being discriminated against as far as I can see

Thanks for the clarification though

My wife plays and she’s a gurl but she’d never visit the forums.

You have a dark way of looking at the world. I like it.

Sort of a prickly disposition.

Interesting results. I would have assumed it was more 50/50. I wonder if there are just less of us on the forum or in the game in general?

OP is lonely and wants a girlfriend who plays games. Or to talk to a girl and dream. That’s not nefarious, in most cases.

Mama told me dont leak info of yourself on the internet.

there is “other” answer for those who don’t know their gender

and as always when talking gender some feel entitled to get offended
it’s so hard to have any gender or race based talk without “hurting” someones feelings

as they say, offense is taken not given

You’re probably forgetting the fact many fellas use female avatars online!

I’ll admit I do becuase I like that wiggle. I don’t in boundless because there is no wiggle.

Very true. I usually use a male character in games to avoid weird/lewd comments, but the BL community is cool as heck. I feel really comfortable here :heartpulse: :boundless:

Yeah, Boundless really feels like a family. I’ve been a part of a lot of online communities, over half my closing-in-on-40 years now have been spent in various ones, luckily problems have been quite limited in forums aside from one I admined on (I’ve learned the big thing is just not accepting random requests in larger networks like FB, PSN, XBL, ect), but even then, I just feel so comfortable here compared to elsewhere, opening up with people a lot more.

In real life she’s actually a dog (hey, it’s the internet so nobody’s going to know, right?). In dog years it’s less impressive.

unless she meant actual 40 earth years, meaning like 200 in terms of human life (at least) if she a dog :open_mouth:

almost forgot that :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
