well the price will drop only if noone will be buying at actual price, sadly, portals are always hungry
There’s a much simpler way to fix it but people wouldn’t agree to it. A portal network is created with two to three major hubs on each planet. Each of the major hubs are connected via a portal. Everybody is connected to the major hubs on their planet. Then people just go through the hubs. Problem is nobody is willing to do a little walking to get to where they want to go. A 1x2 portal would be cheap to fuel if they were just connected to the major hubs. It would greatly cut down on the costs of fueling a portal that way and any donations from people just to fuel the portals from one planet to the next. That way the cost would be low to maintain portals and the portals to other planets. The problem is no one wants to take any time getting to where they want to go. They want to get there as quick as possible instead of having a little patience so people make a bunch of portals to instantly get where they want to go so they burn through their oort which causes such a high demand that causes the price to rise so high.
1x2 portal 900 oortshards= 5 weeks(35 days)
2x4 portal 900 oortshards= 1 week, 5 days(12 days)
Big difference when you get almost 3 times the timeframe for the same amount of oortshards used
Honestly, this is probably the easiest way to pull it off.
I already connected myself to the planetary hub on Dzassak, so I’m more than fine with this becoming commonplace.
the easiest way is 1 planetary hub at every plannet, and connect them the way from planet to closest planet, Portal Seekers network was best imo
i know Circa hub allow you to see all portals at once and pick one you wanted without running thru 7 portals on different planets to get where you wanted
i still got PS portal chart to see where to go ![]()
also - no matter on which planet you have your build, shop, home - always connect it to your own planetary hub
i have nothing against Circa hub, but portal costs…i know everyone want to connect their shops to Circa but… whhhhy using 3x oorts if you can link your shop to planetary hub for cheapest cost possible ![]()
I’m just sort of coming back to the game, when i last was active (more than a year ago), hunts were generating an average of around 150-200 rough oort an hour per person, most hunts were 2 hours, and 15-20 players.
If it’s only 250 rough oort per player, and say only 12 players (rounding both down), that would be 3000 rough oort generated per hunt. I’ve also been seeing on the discords that it seems most days have 2 hunts per day… So lets round that down to 6 total hunts so 18,000 rough oort per week. Which nicely turns into 250,000 oort shards for portals each week by the community. This is a very conservative number, but with that amount lets do the math for a complete portal network…
So there are 52 known worlds, and max portal size uses 9 oort shards per hour. That would say 78,624 oort shards consumed per 7 day week per portal network (assuming max size portals for every portal). This is enough to fund 3 full inefficient networks (granted no sovs or personal portals).
I know of 2 current full portal networks, but again I’m just coming back. But either way it looks like a very conservative number should be able to fund the bulk of the demand, so I don’t think this is a supply issue atm. I think you have players like me who stockpile rough oort to decide if I want to build with the pretty blocks, or fuel some portals, or make some quick coin on baskets…
Just my napkin math analysis. I do support lowering the prices, and if I get back into the shop running game I will try and at least meet in the middle (500 rough, and 40 per shard), i know unless there were multiple selling/people pushing and at least 3x that supplying you won’t steer the ship, you will just loose coin and control of portal fuels to whoever has the deepest pockets…
If there was a portal network made for about 30 possible portals being 1x2 for people to connect to the hub then that slows down the cost of personal portals. All tier 6 planets can be connected in an orderly fashion without having to make them the max portal size so if you connect all tier 6 planets in the fashion that doesn’t require a max portal size you cut down on oort usage with smaller portals saving even more oort. With all the portals everyone has and the size of portals they can be cut down by a third of the oort that way. If done right and everyone worked together on the fuel for a day a 3x5 portal for the bigger portal can easily be fueled by hunting and donations. If everyone has a 1x2 portal that would only require the person 72 rough oortstone to make the 900 oortshards to fuel it for a month, then everyone help chip in for the oortshards to fuel the portals that connect to different planets would cost about 400 rough oortstone a month. If that became a reality, everyone wouldn’t need as much oortstone which would bring the demand down which would cause the price to drop. So basically that would come down to a person never needing anymore than around 350 rough oortstone a month and that is if everyone in the community helped with the upkeep of the 3x5 portals for traveling between planets
So essentially, we should just get rid of the big portal hubs and just get small hubs on each planet?
Who would be responsible for building and maintaining those?
Should the viceroy of each planet be responsible for setting up and maintaining that planet’s hub?
That was the Portal Seekers type of Hub, it is a lot of maintenance and communication to keep up, which I think is why they burnt out (not 100% on that, I’d have to go back and dig up their posts). But it’s easier to maintain the current style, but it requires more fuel and most people seem to prefer a one stop to go everywhere style… Having only ever set up small networks in the past, i can say the maintenance and such does become a chore quick, and it’s something I personally moved away from after only a few months of it.
I like that idea personally, although there might be some planets for which the viceroy no longer plays, and just has a Gleam Club membership that keeps their huge build alive…
I don’t think I could go down to 350 but I will have two shop stands at Lucky 7 1 at 700 and one at $1,050. I will always be any price out there for what I can sell. It’s not the 350 you’re looking for but who knows It may still help.
200 right now 700, 300 right now $1,050. 102 p.m. Eastern standard
I have plenty of oort myself. My needs are small because I keep them that way. But I could open a portal to any planet and maintain it for at least a year without effort.
Actually its not bad. We fuel the High tier doors and some homeworlds. We have hosts for the rest. We also fuel home worlds until a host comes along. We have some real great hosts and if something happens where they cant fuel it we don’t mind throwing a temp in place until they can get back in game. The Viceroy is not the host necessarily. In some cases it just happens to be. But not how we decide who is host. We have people who are just regular dependable players and it works.
Someone appears to have skipped Steps 1-3 and is flooding the market with rough oortstone! Not enough to be fully successful in dropping the price much right now, but that is crazy!!!
Oortu is MajorVex. ![]()

Kakorot Network will also drop prices. In full support. Just gime me a few hours till im on. Wonderful plan!!!
Come on everyone drop that price. This is a huge crazy start.. Let’s keep on going. That is being Boundless!!!
Oh thats a cool start! so cool to see thank you @MajorVex and anyone else that joins in
Lasted about as long as I expected. I was in the process of putting up about 5 shop stands at 375c myself. The main issue is someone will just buy it all up and resell it which they did.
I suppose that’s a positive and a negative. Buy it low sell it high keep the coin and all the oort still goes to one person ![]()
Well that kinda sucks. A lot of coin changed hands today. And a few basket won’t need Oort for awhile you’d think.
