Grump Store closing

Thanks to those folks who still pop in to buy from me, but I think it’s time to sit back and watch the price crash fireworks from a distance

So I’m closing down Grump Store, and anything I don’t need/use I’ll seek out request baskets for elsewhere.

Until next time! Good luck to @OmniUno and @slyduda

I’m a fairly new merchant - can someone please explain how the prices are crashing? Could I get an example of an item that has crashed in price, perhaps?

They’re not. Markups are going down because that is what rivalry does. The more competition, the more power for consumers.

It would be a pity to see your shop close. Lower prices will mean more items being traded by everyone - if you stay open you’ll reap the benefits too

I preach competition.

Realizing that was directed at Grump. Oopsies.

nothing is crashing. leave your store open. Omni is just being dramatic. People undercut each other slightly every day…

I’m a bit weary of trying to keep up at the moment - I’m really just a solo trader, so I actually got a lot further with the shop experience than I expected to!

Besides, my shops tend to just be a processions of rows of shop stands. I think I’m going to spend time gathering, chilling out a bit, but also getting some building practice in. I still have no idea how chisels work, which is very remiss of me…

But I’m sure I’ll come back to trading at some point, although probably just specialising in a few areas, rather than trying to do it all (which was fun, but tiring!)

One of the things I love about the game is that there is no NPC economy; that everything is by players. So I have no issue with market changes. The roundabout will keep spinning, it’s just time for me to get off for a while, to recover from the dizziness

The most obvious examples here are

Diamonds
Diamond Hammers
and
Diamond Bows…

Example Diamond Hammers:
Two days ago during the great sale…
Omni had them at 2358
Sly had them at 2349
And I had them at 2300

We all Pretty much sold out of stock…
Sly has since went up in price
Omni is vowing to not go up in price but I am not sure he restocked yet either…
I have restocked and I am now sitting at a price of 2999

Before the sale they were floating around 3299 - 3600 in price…

That is still my price, I’ve restocked just now and I’m crafting more as we speak

Sad to see you close. You were my go-to nearly all the time I was caught short. But I agree with your comment about trying to do everything at once: it’s not easy. If you’re abundant with certain things just do that. That’s what I’m planning.

Welcome back to exploring, building and hoarding again  me and Dec might run into you on our travels and searches :sunglasses:

Owning a shop myself, i still went to your shop for what i needed before and after you renovated it. This explains why it was empty the last time i walked in. Best of luck in whatever you intend to do. Do pass by my house in therka (Red’s Settlement portal in portal area of therka market) or my shop in Aquatopia if you’d like to have some conversation over a pie and some brew .
