One thing that does “broken footfall” a big disservice is the term itself. Footfall was never broken.

The servers were broken and crashing / rebooting. Every time they got reset, footfall was reset. The knock on effect was that I got at least 20x more footfall then I get today.

Now that stability has been reached, to some degree, footfall has been reduced to what it is today… to almost nothing, compared to what it was. And it has revealed a glaring hole… when there is a lack of coin generation, no one buys a damn thing.

In our real economy, there is literally a clustered set of servers that just “create money” which is used to buy debt. This injects money into the economy by making the cost of borrowing cheaper for everyone. It’s quite literally welfare for everyone.

So I personally don’t care how it happens but we need a similar mechanism, whether it’s footfall, a handout, quests, whatever.

I personally really hope they don’t add dailies. I freaking hate dailies. It feels like digital chores. I’m hoping that add a mechanic to grind resources into a small amount of coin. If for example you could turn gold into 5c or something, it still allows room for players to price above and sell, but if times get desperate we can still generate coin. Hell maybe we’d have something to do with all these damn earthyams that keep flooding my inventory system.
