Don’t suppose you happen to have a quote from a dev that talks about it by chance? While I could have possibly guessed, I wasn’t aware umbris planets would not be released until after the update.
I got some second hand info sometime back, about lighting and Umbris planets.
Putting that together with the changes to lighting in this update, it’s a logical step to make.
It could be the info I was given was incorrect, but all the game updates and info so far makes me believe not.
As to whether any info is ‘public’, as soon as a dev tells a player any info it is public right away, and they would be idiots (they are not) to think the the info would go no further. In fact, I suspect it’s a deliberate tactic of releasing info without posting it written down, so it always seems as ‘hearsay’.
Call it plausible deniability if you wish.
