How to extract fossil?

Hello, i’ve bought the game yesterday and i couldn’t find answer to my question anywhere
Maybe we should update the wiki, i’m currently playing on testing servers.

You can mine fossils just by obtaining a stone hammer. You just click on the block after that.

Thanks for answer, now i have another problem, i wanted to make some higher tier tools but i dont know how to get fossil extract, when i mine with a hammer i get only small, medium fossils.

I’m not quite sure how to do that yet, due to the recent update, but I would recommend putting them either in a crafting table or a furnace (a crucible on top of a fire pit)

Neither of those solutions work, i think we’ll have to wait for dev to help us out

Okay, I know that right now we also can’t create metal tools. There is a weekly update that used to be on Fridays. but now it can be any time in the coming week (last week’s update was on Thursday).

Okay, guess we’ll just have to wait. Thanks for your time

You need to build an extractor. If I recall correctly, the recipe is stones, timber, and 2 ancient tech in the work bench. When placed, the extractor looks like a purple and stone version of the workbench, but with a different starting piece.

I’ll update this post with the correct recipe in a moment.

If you melt copper or iron ore in the furnace, then you can make copper and iron tool in the tier 2 workbench.

How do we get the tier two?

In the basic blue bench, put in 5 timber, 2 melted metal and 1 Ancient tech fragment.
Then you get 4 workbench-cubes, place them in a group.

From that one you can make an extractor in the same way, to get more materials.

someone know if iron is the highest tier for tools you can craft at the moment? if no, i would like to know how to make higher tier tools

It’s the highest tier we’ve got available to us at the moment (at least, that’s what the game’s files seem to indicate for the various tools - wood, stone, copper, iron)

This release only contains a subset of the crafting tree and tools.

Iron alone is terrible. What you need is this here treated carbon steel knife with a genuine stag horn handle for just 29.99. Have you ever seen stag horn at that price?

I’m all for metals, but what about non metal impliments? Less generic then ‘stone’ , more specific, like a piece of jade or chert you get from breaking stones, at a certain rate.

Also weapon customization. Ancient warriors had some lovely looking hard-wood clubs. Etching and carving could be added, or gluing or trying on stuff like beads or feathers.

OH MY GOSH I WAS DOING THAT RIGHT WHEN I WAS READING… THAT’S MY FAVORITE PART OF FUTURAMA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I’M SO CLOSE TO THE COMMUNITY!!

seriously though, I was phrasing that.

maybe when cat people craft them theres yarn and carboard on it. and a feathery gift that may or may not have passed away earlier.

I see. Did you make sure to throw up the internal organs on the antique rug and to leave the head in a slipper?

Will mechanics akin to toughness vs hardness vs weight/density and decay be added to equipment?
