I try to create as much as possible out of my imagination but it probably runs as wild as it does due to taking in information around me. From fantasy art, photos of other parts of the world, even a general theme using one keyword “nature” or “medieval” paints numerous images in my mind to then play with.

My inspiration is fantasy themed video games. I usually take a picture I like from the Internet and then make it fit along with my other creations by following a set of rules.

I follow self imposed rules to fuel creativity. My rules look like this: none of my roofs are chiselled (blasphemy !! :stuck_out_tongue: ), gleam and decorative gleam have to be partly hidden unless built over water, light must come from lanterns, all builds must have a foundation and can’t float in air, all roofs are made with metamorphic bricks, etc.

I also like to name buildings with name from musical terms and try to make the building and the name fit in some way. For example, The Symphony Mellow is named such because I perceived the fact that it was and inn made to give a room to each of @AudreyTT’s alts. Each alt is a different voice like instruments are in a symphony and each having a specific role like alts’ roles. My factory is named Staccato Factory because I imagine there being lots of tickling sounds or clicking metal sounds and this is best compared to staccato in music.

I get mine from everywhere now. “I could totally build that…” is a common phrase in my real life. :joy:

I also go to Pinterest. Right now, historic downtowns are “my thing”. You can search anything and everything.

Inspiration comes from my imagination combined with pinterest usually. When it comes to motivation its a combination of “omg just think how cool will this look when its done!” mixed with a leisurely stroll around @Apt and @georgegroeg 's bases, “if they can do it, then why can’t I?” :joy:

Oddly enough most of my ideas come to me in the shower. Then as @Dulki says I just start randomly building. If I’m not happy I tear it down and start over until I like it.

My inspiration come from my needs. When I needed a new / larger workshop, I decided I wanted to seperate different processes and therefor needed many symmetrical but smaller work stations, then with a touch of creativity I built square towers. Very creative I know…But functional. I also noticed a need for more/better explanations of the in-game tutorial so I decided we need to build a … ooops… Forget that last part… /

My inspiration comes form practical and functional needs. I try to mix creativity in, but not all of us are gifted…
