What is the max power for every machine? And how many could would it take to reach it? Advanced and regular.

7200 power is the max 1 machine can use.
Given advanced coils give 300 power, and regular coils provide 100, it takes 24 advanced coils, or a mix of both, to get there.

Really though, diminishing returns means that you only need 12 or, if crafting with spark, 18 coils before any more become not worthwhile (especially taking repair times into account)

Just did some testing today after a conversation with @AeneaGames -

The machine won’t draw power from more than 24 coils. This includes 24 adv coils, 24 regular coils, or a mix of both.

Tested with advanced forge coils, regular workbench coils, and whatever she used mix and match coils on.

So max is 7200 and you can have a range from 100 to 7200 on the machine in roughly 100 power increments if you mix types.

Is that mentioned somewhere in the game?

Because all I can determine is that advanced coils give 300 power and that there’s a max of 24 coils a machine can actually use.

So that kinda means the max power seems currently to be 7200 but if one day more powerful coils come out that 7200 number could go up even tho the max of 24 stays the same…

I should reword my statement:
7200 Power is the max you can currently give a machine, given the limit of 24 coils.

Yeah

Since I have this 'lil feeling we might see more powerful coils soon. Umbris based power coils that can give 600 or 1200 power? That then can power Forge AND Mixer machines both (Rift would do Refinery and Extractor, Blink Compactor and Workbench) since Umbris is the pre-cursor of (or something related to) emeralds and amethyst.

This would up the max power a tad, replacing them all with these better versions has us grinding some more, will save us repair time…

and…

We can up the Effectiveness with forging!

This means we can then make the next tools in the progession chain AND we can make way, way cheaper gem and metal forged tools!!!

It makes sense in quite a few ways!

The Coils are tied to a machine (Ruby to Compactor, Topaz to Refinery, ECT.), so if they do an ubris or rift coils, there would most likely be a new machine to hook them up to first

I’d like to see three new machines use any new power coils we get. Most recipes do not even benefit from more than 3600 power anyway. One of them being a type change machine. I have so many Mosaic and Marble plans but don’t want to spend the time type changing. Need to finish my settlements roads but it is almost all type changed wood.

Not necessarily since Umbris is a pre-cursor for amethyst and emeralds (or somesuch) so they could maybe work for both…

But new machines would be nice too!
Am sure we’re also getting farming equipment and down the line perhaps machines too?

I still wish they would give us some sort of machine coil rack, something that looks like the storage block, so we can get more coils into a smaller space.

I keep trying to redesign my workshop but never end up with enough room, lol.
