How long does the loot item last? Wondering if you would need to have several for a hunt or would one do for a couple hours.
I know that sounds weird, but I sometimes wonder if certain players can attract meteorites. I know that when I play it seems they start landing left and right. It is extremely rare for me to be on a planet and not have at least three drop within 10 minutes of us playing and then like clockwork they are dropping around us, we had to keep moving and we were in the same region.

Lootstick lasts forever if you don’t hit stuff with it and use up its durability. The idea is you just hold it and run around during or after the fight.
Edit: It’s a perfectly reasonable strategy to run around with a loot stick in one hand and a healing bomb in the other

Edit of edits: Yes i find they drop all the time when ur doing something else. One reason I actually do quite a lot of gathering on my hunter Samphire, now. With max power and titan axe he can harvest good enough for me.

Yeah the loot function doesn’t use up durability while looting, only if you use the item (hit stuff, shoot it, etc depending on item). We sell a basic autoharvest and attraction totem for 750c, throw a revive augment in it to keep you from hitting things with it and it’ll last forever.
where is your shop at? I’m thinking of getting one, may join a hunt this weekend. I consider myself to be starting mid level in basic knowledge of this game but experience in playing ability low level. My arm jerks and my fingers can all of a sudden click on the mouse when I don’t want to and so affects my fighting ability. That is one reason I neve join in unless my son is with me. I see it as a hinderance to others. And I won’t be a burden to other players.
Not whining, just facts of life; I have no problem in not chasing the “rainbows” of level 5 meteorites on Tier 4 and up, I can handle a level 1 on a level 3 and sometimes a level one meteorite on a Tier 4 by myself, get enough ores on my own to do what I need.
As long as I am having fun, it doesn’t matter to me, and I am having fun.
Our shop is The Golden Fist found from Grovidas Te Portal Seekers and from the Ultima Shopping Hub. We sell higher level loot items too, we try to provide the whole spectrum.
You should join a hunt! There’s really no way you can be a hindrance on a group hunt, your very presence improves the meteor levels even if you do nothing, and any hit you land and health bomb you throw is a help. Hunts are really chaotic, I highly doubt anyone will even notice a stray twitch or shot. If you want to you can join us on our next hunt, we’re super chill, small group (3-8 peeps usually only because that’s all we can muster up).

@TameJames I bought the cheapest thing I could find with autoharvest and attraction from you guys last night, which was a totem.
I didn’t realise until I equipped it that it had ‘that sinking feeling’ buff too 
I guess it will come in handy if I ever need to get to the bottom of a lake…
But here’s the kicker, I have an absolute crippling fear of being in water on a game like, if I fall in (like I did on Delta Cancret) I go into a full on panic. Luckily i had my grapple and got myself out and didn’t have to abandon my game like I’ve done before hahaha

Lol hold the jump button while in water to stay on the surface, you can float with that sinking feeling but you rise faster if you don’t hold it in your hand. There’s no mobs in water or over water (except by land) so in a way it’s the safest place to be.
yeah that’s the good thing about it, just hold x stare at the sky and try not to cry 
don’t know what it is, honestly even when I know there’s nothing in the water (please tell me there are no underwater mobs?) I still panic haha.
realistic games are worse. and when I played Ark I was so petrified of the water cos of the huge dinos hahah

Lootsticks are also good for Centraforge beginners to make. Use a chisel as the item to forge.
