Meteor mechanics

Is their a reason for such a small blast range when a meteor hits the ground? A rock as large as a t1 would make a decent sized crater along with destroying the land around it At least a half mile out in the process a bunch of debris would go in the air blocking the sun. It would be cool to have slightly more realistic mechanics when they hit or at the very least if one hits the ground in real life it would be easy to spot where it hit. So why is it not the same for boundless since meteor seems to be the key feature of the game.
At least blacken the sky above the impact crater.

Probably would be a big lag “bang” too with all the instant voxel changes which is what I would suspect is one of the reasons.

I dnt think so they throw a white shader on the winter event meteors could be a similar concept.
Instead of snow it would be ash dust lightning and the ground will be darkened the crater would be no different then someone spamming Bombs.
