So my beacon is now a settlement. But it seems I can’t name it. I thought maybe this is because it is only an outpost. But I see other outposts that are named. So why can’t I name mine?
Do you have more than one alt and if so are you definitely using the one that owns the beacon?
I am using the one that owns the beacon.
Is your beacon aligned to or controlled by a guild? Is it connected to another beacon in the same guild?
Also is your beacon part of a larger settlement?
Both of these can affect your settlement naming rights and permissions.
If your beacon is isolated and solo make sure you’re looking for the naming button under settlement details and not under beacon details.

Here is a small farm I own and haven’t guild aligned
If someone built a 41,000 prestige beacon touching this, I would lose my naming rights altogether.

OK - I assumed that one would set the name from the Places menu under Settlements. So you do it in the actual beacon! Problem solved, thanks.
