Some people may not share this mindset but oh well. I look at boundless similar to games like wow, eso, etc. you can grind for the best gear or the best blocks but realize at some point things get nerfed or other things become more effective. New things get added so other things get adjusted. If you’re playing the prestige game don’t stack one block because at times like this nerfs happen. But they affect everyone equally. If you enjoy grind, now you have a new one to get your prestige back to where it was.
Now i can agree that some system to at least get your seba back wouldve been nice. Or if the previous marble somehow kept its prestige and all new marble got the new prestige values. But it was probably easier to just nerf it all and keep it as one block with one prestige value
Thing is, My base is brick heavy. I dont even have that much marble. (12-13SSes)
But still lost 320k+. And you cant compare this to WoW. You get new gear in 1-2 raid or mystic run. People have grind out 30-40 hours+ to grind all the marble out. To just get nerfed because some guy played a hour and wants what the others have. Sandbox MMOs have to be grindy. If not youll lose the diehards because they will get bored and leave
It makes me happy lol PPl play games for different reasons Some ppl play to get the most money ,some ppl play to build great things with high end mats ,some for the prestige,exploring,hunting. So when one of these things get impacted it hurts folks.
My main point is in any MMO game things get nerfed/changed. It’s common. You could play one class and they get nerfed to the ground. Do you keep playing, quit, change class or change your focus to a new spec. In Boundless, marble gets nerfed. Do you keep playing, quit, or change your focus to a new block type/higher level of marble. Prestige can also go up at any time.
At the end of the day are you building solely for prestige or what looks good in your build. There’s still new blocks for diehard players. But this recipe change makes the game more approachable for everyone.
Them MMOs have the population to experiment. I played 2 classes in WoW and never changed. You character is still same lvl. And not all gear is accessable to a lvl 1. Same way it should be here. There should be blocks that some people cant get without grinding or buying. It creates an economy. There was no reason to change the recipes after being out for so long and people putting in so much time. I like the new blocks, but they should not effect the current blocks. especially the ones that took crazy amounts of mats to create. This game has lost TOO many players and this route will lose even more.
You can, but prestige is a very crazy thing. Honestly i love the way people react to stuff like this. If my city got knocked out of capital status i would be excited to build and get back to where we were. I’d feel the way a lot of you all do too tho. 1 mil prestige overnight is a lot.
I can agree with all of this. I’d love for blocks that can’t be sold and show people that you worked for it. And yea i made a ton of mosaic, chisel changed it to igneous and everything and im sure i also took a hit. But i love it but i’m crazy like that.
I chisel changed thousands of Sedi white into Meta to make into wht marble for a build. I absolutely hated it But I figured it would be nice build and also get some prestige now looking back cold berry wouldve been easier and less tedious. But youre right Ill get back on the horse and do what needs doing like I always do.
I agree that this can be something motivate you if you lose your position. In my case I’ve been working on making my place a great city and a 4 mill loss feels like a huge step back in that process.
Well cold berry is still sedi also and since marble still requires meta nothing lost imo if the build looks good. I’ll always judge a build based off of looks vs prestige anyway
That’s the point! Very ugly, refined stone stacking cities won and the people building with marble ('cause it’s seemless) to have a nice looking city/building lost… so it’s better to pile up ugly refined stone if you want to reach a milestone?! I don’t think this is a good way.
Why investing into new, expensive blocks in the future when they get nerfed and are more or less for free later?!
I aint leaving, but this was a huge hit to my motivation. You seen my build so far. It isnt anything crazy but just me using high prestige blocks. Now ill resort to Deco geming some holes. lol. People always whine that prestige isnt everything. If youve seen my builds. I am not a crazy pretige builder but I do large builds. and havent bombed yet but i guess its time.
