Well if you’re trying to build a themed build with the community(multi guild) you’ll have to work together and communicate your ideas with your neighbors to make your builds flow together seamlessly is the key. I think a good example of this was the dk Forest. Everyone had there own trees. But some people did try and blend there builds into the next which was cool. And that’s what would be required with a build like this only on much larger scale.

It’s order vs anarchy. I don’t think either way is right or wrong, but you certainly get less drama when you have safeguards in place, such as boundaries and roads. In an ideal world it would be nice to say “build wherever you like”, right up until someone dumps down a hideous structure blocking access to your store, and you don’t have the heart to tell them that they need to move it, or change it - or maybe you do, and they refuse.

Elop Portas had roads, but most of them were built after the structures. We extended roads to people, rather than carving out plots for them. Towards the end though we did start to get a few cases of builds interfering with city infrastructure as the place became more popular.

I don’t know - there’s no right or wrong way to do things, but roads do help people get around easier.

I love the idea and would happy to join . Having a central hub and then building out from there is a good start imo. Also like the idea of using the natural terrain and not having preset roads or paths .

Tomorrow I plan to start building the new hub building for the city myself before I open it up for others to build.

Basically, for anyone’s who interested, I plan to make a discord so I can better manage the city and it inhabitants. il ask people what size plot they want, what they plan to build, and any preferences for location (such as in water, at the top of a hill ect…)

I’m just not sure how successful such an idea will be though, how many people will bother to join the discord, and most importantly if I should make it sooner (like tomorrow) or later once i’ve actually completed the hub building.

I am probably blind, but which planet did you choose?

Edit to add…will there be any pre-made paths or walkways?

Right, my bad I didnt actually specify in the update post ahah.

It was a tie between Kol Huroo and Norkyna. I chose Norkyna because Kol Huroo gives me unplayable connection.

I plan to add an outer castle wall to keep non-flying creatures out (likely as people start building), and more natural pathways connecting each building - think medevil village gravel and cobblestone style

Good luck. I hope you can get it up and going.

Another player and I have tried on Norkyna a couple of times this past year but we were being killed non-stop and gave up each time. Norkyna is a beautiful planet

That stealth potion (drawing a blank on the name) helps immensely during the building process
