I dont think this is only new player “problem”.

I think personally that new crafting recipes are too grindy/expensive.

On-topic tho, yes, the rewards are way too gosh darn low especially if you look at the new recipes which use way too many of them.

I already decided I’m gonna give up the idea of many oorty’s, lights and totems since no one seems to be selling them either…

Problem is the red canes… i dunno whos idea was to put both canes in new recipes.
Greens are easy to get even newer players but reds are pain for even veterans.
At least this is the vibe im getting here

Exactly what I’m seeing too. Green canes are fine, and quite fun! :smiley: Anybody can farm them. It is the red canes that are the issue, especially given people are wanting to create lots of some of the things requiring them - if I could I know I’d create THOUSANDS of twinkles for sure, and I know I can’t be the only one there!

I just wanted a collection. 1 oorty 1 twinkle every color. With these rates i’ll be lucky to get enough for the oorties lol.

I have not done the event yet due to being extremely busy at this time

but based on just looking at what is required to mass craft the twinkles, I am going to go ahead and assume, that while there is a problem with some players needing instant gratification, This is not one of them.

This looks like an actual grind, and one that is most likely a bit too much for an event that only lasts for 2 weeks out of the whole year, during a time where many players are busy IRL due to the holidays and may already be stressed as is by the holidays.

FYI. I stand by what I said as it’s my opinion. Agree or disagree… but, it’s comments like this that start the drama in posts like this… passive aggressive attacks are not helping anyone and are exactly the reason I paused before answering your post.

My point was, I didn’t find it particularly hard to fight the meteor. 4 Red canes is a bit low and I agree that reward should be increased. But, double fisting snowballs killed them pretty easily…

I did the event last year and found it to pretty much the same… considering I was a gatherer/hunter and spent the entirety of my existence with defeat penalty I was not at lvl 50 yet. I didn’t find it to be over difficult then either.

From my experience last years snow meteors were easier compared to this years did it get nerfed or? @james

Not that it bothers me I’m easily adapted to new changes just curiosity

well… lets take it with side, you said 4 red cane from 1 meteor right?
lets check

255 colors x 10 canes for single twinkles = 2550 canes
255 oortys x 5 canes = 1275 canes
not counting totems, but only oorts and twinkles, single of every color
2825 canes / 4 per meteor = 707 meteors
255 totems x 5 canes = 1275 canes / 4 = 320 meteors

total 1027 meteors

2 week event [edited]

1027 / 14 = 80 meteors every 24 hours

The event is two weeks. :blush: But, I agree the drop is too low on red canes. No disagreement there…

My whole problem with these events is the meteors being the only source of a key event drop. Need this kind of stuff appended to the general loot tables for non-meteor mobs, natural blocks/plants, etc. I’m not sure what kind of limitation impedes this, maybe a dev could fill me in

If I could change something with this event I would decrease amount of mobs per meteorite and keep loot same. I feel that these meteorites are slower to do than solo oort meteorites.

Last year I did few meteorites and was more hyped for this now I am doing these ones on different mindset.

I generally don’t like too much seasonal events on games so I just do those for short while for fun. Usually these events feel forced to do with that short time window and I don’t like that there is some sort of need that every game would have events.

we loved halloween event just becouse everyone, literally everyone regardless of level and playtime were able to gather enough orbs to get what they wanted

Maybe if you read it again you can see there was no reference to a person and how by not putting yourself in the right context of all the words I provided (I had clarified that I was respecting the original view) you inferred the wrong thing. I basically said “doing X results in Y.”

So I really should not have to clarify myself since the logic and sentence was fine. I did it because I was trying to show that I do try to speak fairly to people. Here is my quote:

I wonder if it is a generational thing or just how I grew up. Usually it is very rude to suggest things to people especially when they did nothing wrong. It can even come off elitist in some circles.

I get some might not understand direct straight forward communication and need to be hand holded through every part of an exchange. Others are able to see the words on the page and before they assume something about what was said or let their bias of the author effect them, they can take all the queues the author provides in the comment and then make their assessment of what was said in the correct way and not incorrectly. People really do need to be careful with they infer stuff that wasn’t said.

It takes far too long for too little reward, especially when compared to the recipes that include candy canes.

I have not taken on any higher level hat mobs yet, are they just a single candy cane even for a strong or mighty?

As that seems far too little reward for the effort!

No wonder I saw someone buying canes for 500c each…

Literally your entire post was passive aggressive. Also, I’m the same age as you… it’s not generational it’s clear as day.

Perhaps you feel misunderstood, but seriously every post that turns into a train wreck has the same couple people who veer it that way.

You were calling out most of the player base. So while it is not a personal attack, it is a generalized attack.

And while I personally don’t care at all. It is things like that, that can cause some people to have a not so good response as it can set the wrong tone.

And nobody selling me any at that price. If I don’t get any by later and there aren’t people selling (might get better with some hunts going) I probably will raise the price, as I really do want these quite a lot. Even if just to get enough to deck out my main base… I’ll basically keep going til someone starts selling! :wink:
