i searched forums and none of them have “solved” the issue
when i press play for boundless on steam the game launches a white window then goes full screen then a few seconds crashes

It fails to create Textures … Are you using DX11 (Driver + GPU Support) ? What are your PC specs ?
Maybe you can try to re-install the game … this helped me with some errors.
PS: It’s hard to read in the small window. Can you share it on GIST (public gist).
As @Heurazio says make sure you’re running the latest drivers from your vendor. (Windows doesn’t always automatically install the latest drivers.)
Yes looks like there are newer drivers, Yours are From Feb 2015 but there are Jan 2016 available. Looks like these http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/97765.

This seems to fix it:-
In steam right click on Boundless->Properties->Disable the Steam Overlay in Game. If that does not help revert the change.

have you steam beta activatet ?
going into game properties and doing the beta and reverting back after beta did the trick also my drivers are indeed upto date as i had to download for other games

either way problem is fix but game is still disappointing
