Some newbie question

I , just got the game and explore the world. Jumping around and fall to my death alot, found some creatures to, that was not enjoyed my company…
Really like it so far.
Have succeeded to build some basic tools and a beacon on top of a mountain. I agree to those who want the height of beacon to be higher to, to protect the long stair up to top.

I should like to see some basic beginners guide in forum. Now its a trail end error only to find basic keyboard-keys.

Some questions:

  1. How big is each world?
  2. I found out i can travel between servers/worlds. Can i make a beacon in each world, or are i restricted to one in my home-world? Can i pick material and take home?
  3. Is there any meaning to start construct anything serious or are the world gonna be resetted?
  4. Thinking of building a simple road towards the city, is it ok to build over existing road, or connect with them?
  5. I see some buildings and roads around, is all man-made, or is there procedural structures to?

So far i like it very much and look forward to see the evolution of the game.

You can beacon in each world but you have a restricted amount of beacons to work with.

I think most people are waiting for the beta right now but the beta is maybe going to kill the infinte blocks button so if you are new play around with the textures while you can!!!

I think most people are ok with people coneecting up to their roads, it is best to ask the person it connect to though.

Everything is man made ^.^

Be aware it only allows you to place an infinite amount of blocks you already have in your inventory

Yes, i thought so to, but i got 12 cube to expand it, its a little better. But still only cower the platform on mountain-top.

The existing beacon system is a prototype and not how it will be when the game is fully released.

on your question how big each world is, I think it was 16.000x16.000 blocks, but those worlds are just the “test worlds” for this state of the game, so how big the worlds will be is to be told later when they arrive :wink:

if you press “.” you can switch through different views (with hud, without hud and debug). In the debug view there are some infos in the upper left corner where you can also find your coordinates (x,y,z) which reach from -xxx to +xxx … if you want to check how big the worlds are: keep running and have a look :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Most (all i know) words are from -4095(/6) x +4095(/6) in dimension so it’s 8192^2 in dimension. I’m not sure if there are still smaller or bigger worlds. The hight of worlds is from 0 to 255 but the first 2-3 blocks hight are normally not usable and covered with an indestructible solid stone.
