I’ve been trying to finish the main objectives to unlock the journal, the problem is that everytime i warp my objectives get set back to gathering the trunks and leaves objective to make a campfire. its done this about 5 times now

This might be intentional to force players to build a base on the home world and not make the mistake of building a base on a hard world where they’ll have a harder time surviving and gathering items.
What happens when you complete the tutorial without using a warp?

i was able to complete the tutorial on a second character without warping to other planets, and was finally able to complete the tutorial on my main character after a couple of level ups and got access to the Journal.

After you;ve completed the tutorial you can always remove your campfire/beacon, unclaim the plots and move to a new location.
