I will be shutting down The Omni Shop in roughly a week. When I started the shop back in pre-alpha it was a community service and used by many. In the modern Boundless economy the community does not need yet another shop. The shop will continue to operate, just won’t get restocked - I will be auctioning off several items with almost no reserve price.
I still have a great love for functional builds and will try to continue helping the Boundless community with them. To that end I will make an announcement later this week.
The end of an era, sorry to see it end.
I bought more in EA, my first gem slingbow, haven’t had much money in 1.0
Will you be building something new where your stores are?
Looks like the trend here sadly is for shops to close, no new players, limited footfall etc and people with all the alts to do as they please (yes me included), certainly looks like specialty shops (forge etc) are maybe the way forward. Devs need to do something but Im not gonna pretend to know what that is…
I think we’re starting to see the shops consolidate more. Kind of like how gyosha mall and others are doing. One central location for all your shopping needs. Im watching the trend from afar and I like it. Once the new players start to surge in they wont have the same problems we did (hopefully) jumping portal to portal just to get lost AND not find what you’re looking for.
I would claim a few plots in the Gyosha Mall. Make it a mini-shop, selling your fastest moving items, then put up a sign or even portal, showing where your main shop is.
If your prices are good enough, they will hunt down your other store to find more good deals! =D
A lot of large stores have added small kiosks/outlet/express shops in the mall. If you need a larger space than what we offer, we’d be happy to work something out to accommodate you.
