I’ve been in search of these ores for a while now and am wondering where is the best place to get them and where to look?
I’ve been reading to mine under lava, which I have done in a t3 and t4 metal world with no luck.
What I’ve been doing is going right under the lava seam, I’ve noticed its mostly contoured with red sand. While I am there I will strip mine below the lava maybe from #1-10 blocks off the seam.
Im fairly new so assuming im doing something wrong, looking for some tips and advice.
Yup, you’ll also come across gems on T5+, though they are much harder to come by. One thing to note is blocks will take longer to break so be ready for that. Also you’ll need level 3 blast protection for serp I believe
Also use an atlas and refer to the depths guide that can be found on the forums. l’m fairy new as well, but would also suggest some alts with focused skills, helps with the grind and leveling up. Also helps to go with someone more experienced, they’ll show you the ropes
I’m also thinking, might be better to mine higher than diamond level for titan, because those altitudes get stripped mostly. As long as there’s 70+ blocks above your head you should find titanium. Gonna try that myself today, should work right?
The ingame knowledge base tells you exactly where to find stuff. Hit the character menu button (default is TAB on PC) and select Knowledge. Use the arrows at the top to filter the list. Gold Seam, Silver Seam, and Titanium Seam can be found under “Blocks”. Select the Seam you want to find and you will find a rundown of where the seam can be found. For Silver, it is found at low altitude (like Alt 25 and lower), under low elevations (anything not under a mountain), and under Dirt. Gold is found at low elevations and under Sand. Titanium is any altitude in/under mountains, and under any block. When the game says “Found Under: X”, it means the top most surface block, so you really should not be finding much of anything under lava since the bottom blocks of lava are usually Gravel or Rock. Of course, different planets have varying concentrations of resources as well.
If you want to know which planets have higher concentrations of which resource, open the character menu (TAB again) and select “Places”. Select “Worlds” at the top of the screen and a list of all the planets you have settled on will appear (as in put down a Beacon at some point). Select a planet and select the “Resources” tab to open a rundown of which resources are present on that planet and what percentage they make up of findable resources. Of the planets I have been to, Silver and Gold are supposed to be common on Till (at 2.80% and 1.22% respectively). Titanium is more common on Alcyon with 1.70% concentration.
My best luck was diamond mining on Serp, found tons of gold, silver, and titanium as byproduct and got a good 100 diamonds per hour give or take. Haven’t had as much luck with the other gems so far.
