I’m finding myself waiting for game being more “something”, not really sure what that is, but it just doesn’t seem complete to me. I like to build for build’s sake, mining mindlessly etc. But whatever I do I feel I have to put a bit more effort than I find enjoyable. Not really what you are saying but that’s my angle. Point being that I’d be spending more time in game if I could do more in less time. I don’t really have much time for grind lately and when I get the idea, until I make it happen I just fall off and leave it unfinished.
I’ve hit 1000h mark couple months ago so it’s not that I’m not into grinding, it’s just a bit slow pace for me personally that’s killing all my inspiration to make things happen.
A small rant not that related to yours but that’s what I have to add :joy:

Why is no one acknowkledging the fact they added a ton of planets since universe 0.1 went live? We started with what 13 or 18 planets now it’s up to 48 planets! Just today, they added 6 new planets with various biomes and possibly new mats. How is that not considered new content?

The way I see it, this isn’t the content you wanted but the fact remains you stilll need to go out and farm the mats to make sings and bomb augments, therefore, it is content. The game here isn’t to blame for your boredom but the way you played the game in 800h and your expectation of the content you wanted. Its not only you a lot of folks now seems to think like that. The devs won’t release the content you want just because you steam rolled the game and now you are bored.
I know for fact you love this game so i will see you back after your break! (hopefully it isnt too long )

New planets = same materials just different colors. Well done I guess lol.

Anyway I said I was out and I am. I’ve said my piece. Those enjoying the game, keep doing so. For the more hardcore type gamers that the entire gaming industry no longer serves, we’ll just be on our way. Peace, all!

Cheerio.
For what it’s worth, made good arguments.

That is all very well… However it’s not the game’s issue, but yours.
You could ask devs for more and more content so you could add 100 or more hours to your gameplay and then come back and ask for even more.
Perhaps you just need to change that mindset or change the game for now, as you’ve just had enough. Playing the same game over and over can be exhausting. Really.
I know what you are saying, I just don’t see it as being right. :man_shrugging:

800 hours is a good run… im always amazed at peoples attention spans being able to do anything for that long. I think most ive ever spent with one game was about 250 hours and that felt like an obsession so i wouldnt be sad about the excitement wearing off a little.

You mentioned “my mindset is if im not adding to my primary build im wasting my time” and not wanting to do anything else, which of course is fair enough, but does probably explain a bit of the lack of things to do. Only so much you can do with 1 build (again super impressed you got 300 hours after EA out of 1 tower!).

Hope to see you back again in the future!

Not sure that all the hardcore players are going to leave cause you got bored, and this is the kind of thing that hurts the game you want to love so much.

Whatever youre feeling after 800 hours and falling out of love with it. Times it by 1000 and imagine you built the thing then read this. Not sure why you would want others to lose faith in the game, that just seems spiteful to be honest.

Yep. Agreed.

The irony to this post is that it’s basically an exit poll of sorts. I know there was someone asking for that in another discussion. But everyone ganged up on OP, albeit accidentally, for his opinion. Now we know why exit polls/posts don’t exist…

Agreed. His post only hurts the game. It seems like he had to get a little final jab in before being “done”.

If you’ve accrued many thousands of hours in WOW, then you have also spent many £100’s (or $100s) on WOW.
A company that earns around $1 billion per year can afford to employ vast numbers of developers (to keep you entertained). It is absolutely relevant for people to suggest that you have more than got your money’s worth. The current state of the game is what it is, either play it or don’t.

(many edits because = Gin)

Take a look here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_of_Warcraft#Post-launch_development
First expansion took 3 years, and then they add one expansion on a two year average.
Did you play wow at launch? You dind’t have horses, flying mounts, teleports.
Boundless launch was two months ago. And I’m pretty sure that was part of some kind of commercial arrangement because the game wasn’t ready for a full launch.
just give them a little more time.

People may not agree with the OP’s opinion, but it’s his right to express it, and the Devs specifically asked people to tell them what they don’t like about the game. Copied from a post by @james

"Hey Everyone.

I’m genuinely interested to learn about what turns you off from playing Boundless.

Maybe you played and got bored.
Maybe you raged quit.
Maybe the grind ground you down.
Maybe you rubber banded out.
Maybe you crashed into pieces.
Maybe something else was more appealing.
Maybe the tutorial taught you nothing.
Maybe your PC crawled along on it’s knees.
Maybe the website or trailer lied to you.
Maybe it was too easy or too hard or both.
Please let us know!!"

He’s doing just that. It’s natural to be upset when someone has a negative opinion of something you like/love/adore, but telling him his post is ‘spiteful’ and ‘harmful’ serves no purpose other than to spit your anger.

I get where you coming from.
I was there too like month ago. I took some break from the game and now im somewhat playing the game.
Yes this game needs content.
Was it released too soon. Yes
What they are doing is just as you kinda said “adding some sub factors” that gives more “content” to explore.
They need mire time with this game.
This game wasnt meant to be launched this year… this is the biggest factor why we are in this state

Yeah… uhhh no.

He could’ve posted this post in the same thread you stole your quote from. He’s been around for a long time. He knows about the thread you quoted.

And I’m not angry. Heck, I agree with him on most his points. Thanks for the psychology lesson though.

I am taking a very long hiatus from the game and I haven’t racked 800+ hours. Though I am getting close to 700.

The thing is I am doing the same thing I did in alpha and beta and that’s pretty much stepping away from the game to play other things because this game has zero end game and zero reasons to be motivated to play to do the same activities hundreds of times for another 700 hours.

If they really are working on farming being the next piece of content, I might plug away at getting something going for that but really the main thing that’s holding me back is the inability to have my own rental world to build on that is available for everyone to visit while I retain permission settings on who can and can’t build on it. I have serious plans for that and will not change them under any circumstance unless it’s mechanically forced on me.

It’s why I don’t want to run a shop cause I know what it takes to run a shop or successful business. I just don’t feel like going through all that effort in the game and with the current state of the economy it makes it impossible to be motivated to play that mini-game.

There’s also a lack of RNG events that start. We have meteors but they’re disgustingly boring cause the creatures are boring to fight. Hunter isn’t enough to change that. It will take a lot more to make killing creatures fun for someone like me who is primarily a pvper, however, I didn’t sign up for Boundless as a founder and early backer to play a pvp game.

The whole argument that I have gotten my money’s worth is complete BS too. I haven’t. I haven’t because I want to continue to play the game and enjoy what the game has to offer as it evolves over time and has more stuff added to it up until I find something that captures my attention a lot more.

Two of the biggest things for me that would get me back into this game full swing is rental worlds and an fixed economy. I became an early backer specifically for the rental world feature that was promised to be introduced and I am patient with things I think are worth the wait and that’s definitely one of them for me.

I just need stuff to do in the mean time besides 2 or 3 different things. :frowning:

It is what it is I guess. :man_shrugging:

Not sure where the misconception about shops being hard comes from. I have 2 shops, both with close to 100 stands, that are always stocked, and im far from a power player.

I spose if youre super concerned about it making a billion dollars a day it would be rough. But simply having a shop isnt much work.

If something is selling heaps and i cant be bothered farming it, i put the price up and it slows down. Most of the time its more like using shop stands as storage though. You dont sell out of every item every day (maybe if youre next to a hub, i dunno what thats like). And I seem to collect more than i sell of most things without trying. Or if im really keen i spend an hour farming to restock things.

Its actually really good for adding some purpose to the game if thats what youre looking for. Cant remember the last time i stopped and thought i had nothing to do. Theres always something you could collect/craft more of to top up the shop stands.

That’s what I think too and that is why I’ll probably make a longish break. I’m at the same time excited that I see many features mentioned before getting done and not bothered to play seriously until final(ish) balance has been done.
I’ll always be around and in Boundless since it has all the things I miss in other similar games, I just want to wait for it to hit a bit more mature point.

more stuff for me lol :3
i gonna conquer all planets, while u get lazy over ur build
