Before I start, there are similar topics and one close to this seemed to spark some discussion about coin sinks
So I’m going to make a new one, since we have fresh faces around since 8 months ago
What if, instead of coin to use warp conduits you crafted some form of one time fuel to open it.
My suggestion on fuel would be crafted using ‘x Oort shards’ + ‘x metal Ore’
Examples based on blinksecs to be travelled.
0-5 Oort shard(OS) + Copper ore
6-10 OS + Copper ore + Iron ore
11-15 OS + Iron ore
16-20 OS + Iron ore + Gold ore
21-25 OS + Gold ore
26-30 OS + Gold ore + Silver ore
31-35 OS + Silver ore
36-40 OS + Silver ore + Titanium ore
41-45 OS + Titanium ore
Of course that might be simpler to just have 1-10 be OS + copper, 11-20 iron, etc.
Amounts left out since it’s a concept.

I myself would prefer not to have to carry fuels with me to open warp portals. At most I spend 100 per warp. When I do warp it’s generally to a portal hub/spot.
No way. More junk to have to carry and oortstone?!? no way. It is already rare enough and portals are hard enough to fuel…

Maybe could make warp fuel out of leaves? Or breaking warp blocks? Or dancing?
Otherwise using money, if special worlds are far away, only those with lots of money will afford to go to them.
If you can’t put beacons on special worlds there will be no portals to them, only warping, correct?
I doubt it’ll be high cost since they said it’ll be orbiting a planet. Leads one to believe within 3blinksec so 100-400c. We still don’t know enough about the exoworlds to make any solid assumptions tho. There might be be a portal set up on the planet it’s orbiting out in the wild that leads there. Maybe they’ll make it free to warp to. Maybe they’ll add a new tool that will take us there. Or new augment for the totem.
Main reason I don’t like it, it means I need to carry more stuff around when going mining exploring etc.
Plus means more grind to be able to grind away in a mine or at resources. Running, swimming is already taking a long time to travel across planets so warping it is, but introducing extra steps into that, not a big fan off at all.
