So the Well Fed buff is not working again. Has been for the last couple of weeks I think. Don’t remember. What I do know is that it typically stops working while in combat.
What were you doing when you had noticed this? Were you attacking creatures with certain slingbows?
Also, after having a chat with one of the designers, it seems that the description for the Well Fed buff is incorrect. It should say that it should slow down hunger loss rather than Energy loss.
@vdragon I had been attacking Cuttletrunks. The type of slingbow did not matter as it has happened on different types.
Perhaps I am not explaining this correctly or I am confused by how things are supposed to work.
What I am trying to explain is: When I eat a meat pie you get the Well Fed buff for 1 hour. From what I understand that keeps the yellow bar (Energy/stamina) from slowly depleting the level so that it shows less than full (as it does in the picture). I get that the bar goes down when you do thinks associated with it. When I stop and let it recharge it goes back to full (during that 1 hour time frame). It is not doing so. It is going down to less than full and only recharging back to the lower lever (like it does when you do not have the Well Fed buff going).
Hope that makes sense.
What’s the maximum amount of energy on that character? If the character has lost more than 4,000 energy, then eating the Meat Pie at that point will not fill it up completely, so you would have to eat again to do so.
I’ve noticed it happening on hunts too. Don’t some cuttletrunk attacks drain your energy? I notice it’ll go down after I’m attacked and the debuff expires ( like slow debuff) I usually eat a steak and it’s back to working right
Were you on the exo Rakra by chance? I had the same thing happen during the Duskmoor meteor hunt last night.
I had replenished all of my bar with a earthyam soup. My energy bar is around 1k. So the soup was a bit over kill.
Then I was going nuts attacking all the high cuttletrunks I could point my forged ruby slingbow at while hanging off the built tower. wasn’t even 2 minutes of that and my energy bar jumped down to just under half…
…I also had a revive brew, starberry loaf, and super fast brew as buffs.
Hmmm…that’s definitely possible. I usually don’t pay attention to my debuffs while I’m hunting unless it slows my shooting down.

The max Energy is 650 so that is not the issue. I could almost eat 2 Earthyam’s and fill it up.
I believe you might be missing the point (hard to tell in forum posts). No insult intended.
With the Well Fed buff the energy bar should ALWAYS fill back up to full when you are not doing anything that expends energy. The issue is that it does not do so. If it goes down, and I am not doing anything, it will not go back up to full. This only seems to happen when fighting Cuttletrunks. It is not a debuff from them as far as I can tell because from the picture shown above there is none.
@Sterbehilfe Yes it happened last night during the Duskmoor meteor hunt. But the planet or hunt does not matter (as far as I see) because it has happened in other places also. Last night it happened about 5 times while we were hunting.
@morey523 If I eat another pie yes it goes back up and works again for awhile. When not in combat this never happens.

I wanted to report this too. I don’t think the well-fed itself is the issue - it’s the fact that the energy bar gets drained. I realized it happened to me (could be mistaken) if i heal myself with a health bomb. It’s obviously hard to keep track of what’s going on when a bunch of things are hitting you but i am fairly sure when my bomb went off, my health bar would be drained (sometimes). I kept an eye on it.

Could any of you supply a video (or a series of screenshots) showing the issue explaining it in more detail? As I’m not seeing this in game so far.
Isnt it a monster debuff that halves our max stamina? When we cleanse it we have only half left since the max was reduced.
I know thats whats happening during the hunts
I am not sure about that but it makes sense. However with the Well Fed buff it should go back to full unless I am incorrect.
While the debuff is in affect I could understand that the Energy bar would not go back up but when it is over then the Well Fed buff should kick in and have it go back up to full. Again if my thinking is correct. I could very well be wrong.

Confirmed. I just hit myself with a health bomb on Circarpous (during a hunt) and i lost some of my energy bar. Nothing held in other hand. Nothing else hit me. Wish i could take a vid of it to prove it… ill try some screenshots.
Thanks for the screenshots. If I understand this correctly, the following situations occurred:

First screenshot: Your character had already eaten something that gives Well Fed Level 5 and then a Cuttletrunk gives you a Drain 3 Debuff.

Second screenshot: After the Debuff goes away, your Energy is reduced and doesn’t go back up, hence why the bar is showing dark grey instead of light grey.

Third screenshot: You eat a Meat Pie to regain Energy.
Is that correct? If so, I’ll look to try and reproduce on my end.
I couldn’t reproduce it this way, unless you had a Debuff perhaps?

@vdragon as i remember, i had no debuffs. I’ll try to reproduce it and ill reply if i can.

I had a look at this in game, and was able to recreate the same situation. So I asked one of the designers, who said that this is working as designed.
@vdragon Well there you go. We have an answer…not the one I wanted but at least we got to the bottom of it. I guess I never noticed it before.
