GMT+3 means 3 hours ahead of GMT, where as GMT-1 means one hour behind GMT

It is a different way of describing timezones. GMT is Greenwich Mean Time, and all the other timezones are either behind or ahead of it. GMT is also the same timezone as UTC, or Universal Time Coordinated. Its the timezone at 0 degrees longitude.

CST (Central Standard Time) is GMT -6, or six hours behind Greenwich Mean Time. EST (Eastern Standard Time) is GMT -5. And so on.

And on top of that you have summer and winter time… So for example Ireland is using IST in summer only which is GMT+1 (or UTC+1) but is using GMT in winter time… timezone is the best  Ask any devs, we love it  And then you have Nepal, with its GMT+5:45

Oh, yes. Timezones are such fun in programming. People messing with the timeclocks on the servers are my absolute favorite.

We could call it Zulu time, just for fun.

we should have server time (game time), same for all regardless of real time zone, displayed at our screen

CDT is the same thing as CST, it just depends on the time of year that it is.

AKST, UTC - 9
Alaska has a weird time zone compared to the rest of the world sometimes
(though I think I may be the only active Alaskan player)

This is why i hate trying to work out timezones lol.

In the UK it’s BST (British Summer Time) which is GMT+1. In winter its just GMT.

have you tried the time and date site? They have a world clock meeting planner, get everyone to tell you the largest city on the same time zone as yours, for eg, I am GMT = 10, (ten hours ahead of GMT/UTC) but I am also in the same time zone as Sydney Australia. So to get a time for you and I you’d put in your city plus Sydney, and the planner will give you the times over a couple of days. You can do this for a few cities.

Thanks for that. I was wondering if there was a difference.

@MrsStar I have to check it every time I’m on.
I’m also CDT.

That is really cool and I will be using it. But the reason I ask this question is because I need to know how meny people like say 10 hours ahead of me. Or 3 hours behind me. By doing this I can make a time on a day that works for me as well for others
