As @PrincessMaude mentioned, its about the bomb damage. It needs to destroy the ground block in one hit for the flowers to remain (floating)… which is easier if you have the bomb skills and good bombs.

Edit: the video was a very slow deleberate use of the bombs and regenning to show how it worked. When I farm them myself I normally just bomb the ■■■■ out of an entire flower field then regen it and go gather it all at once.

Ahhh thankyou for the explanation. That makes perfect sense!
I was probably using unforged cooper bombs or something silly like that when I decided to experiment.
I figured because they don’t require any damage when you hit them that there was no point wasting expensive bombs.
