Really cool ![]()
It reminds me of Los Alamos in Fallen Earth.
I like to think the oortians came from a distant planet (Oortropalis)that reached the peak of civilization and technology. But then a planet sized meteorite came from deep beyond the oort belt. When it pass through itās gravitational pull brought a burage of Oort meteorites along with it. When they finally noticed it was all but too late. And the oortians had to leave there home world through their greatest technology, the portal. Many oortians died that day. But the few that escaped flourished on there new worlds. And over the centuries the past knowledge of their origins was lost except the most precious invention. The portal.
I thought along a similar path, but had them as having to leave an Earth home on a great sky journey (someone would have had to leave first to set that first destination portal.) But the details of who they were and where they came from had passed, so while they made Oortmas Trees, they had no idea why. Nor did they know why spiders and bats are considered scary, when they had faced elite cuttletrunks. I have these questions on a build in Lacuna ![]()
an oortian civilized exo would be nice to have, one where we can get introduced to loads new recipes and materials. I dont care what it is, just get me up there, we can figure out the rest later!
Iād love to see NPCs we can trade with. Their village could be built on an NPC-owned beacon, making them indestructible. This setup would create a strong new reason to venture onto the EXO worlds besides just farming. To ensure a fair market, NPCs trade inventories should be unique to each player, preventing anyone from buying out everything.
It could also be an opportunity to introduce new storyline and lore through how these villages are presented and built. The architecture, layout, and presentation could offer clues, context, or connections to the greater world of the game.
what about replacing store plinths with vending machines from which we can sell from?
Iād love to have NPCās but unfortunately the world builder is for building biomes and prefabs. I canāt create new blocks or NPCās that would all require development.
I can create to textures for existing blocks but that would only be seen locally. So itās pretty much pointless.
If you have some idea for biomes feel free to share them.
Perhaps a shrine on an oasis in the middle of a desert biome. The shrine might hide something valuable inside ![]()
Been trying to figure out a way to make my sewer system to connect better.
This is my best solution atm.
@georgegroeg Love all the stuff you have been making.
I donāt think anyone has done it yet, but I was wondering if you would put together a small tutorial on how to make a basic āworldā. I have played around with it a few times and got some things to work but not others. If you canāt thatās ok also but I think people would like to see one.
Iāve been using these videos by @Clexarews and some of the other references on the forum.
And this reference was helpful.
There are other videos as well.
If you have any questions I have no problem helping you if I can. But I wonāt be making how to videos as it to time consuming and I still donāt fully know what Iām doing. Itās a whole lot of trial and error.
Edit:
I havenāt created a whole world yet.
Only instances (prefabs) and biomes so far. But I am looking at the Halloween world file.
Where do you get the world builder?
Unfortunately, Itās only available to those who already have it. I know JonEric gave the key out to a couple people but has since not responded to inquiries on receiving it. I know of at least three other people who asked, including myself, but no dice.
Looking good!
Thanks for the mention! Been ages since I was on these forums but Iām glad someone got some use out of the videos!
Definitely did. I appreciate you making them. ![]()
