World "Builds" thread

This is for sharing world builds - have a choice of biome selections that went really well for something, or turned out really pretty? Although there is a fair bit of variation even with the same biome picks, and it randomly can throw in ones not picked, I thought a thread of this sort might be useful for anybody who wants to buy, but didn’t want to go with the template though at the same time wanted some ideas to work with, not sure about some biomes… something to go off of, use as-is or tweak.

As some of you might have noticed, I’ve done a bunch of these. Hoping maybe others might benefit from all my experimenting. This is a lot of fun for me, and I’m going to for now just share my two current favorites. Also, I feel comfortable with having done these enough and seen consistency in the results (small tweaks to the builds I’ll post but mostly the same) to where I think that someone copying them isn’t going to get something TERRIBLY different.

Build #1 - The coin bank.
Description - T6 Corrosive that should give a good bit of both amethyst and emerald mining, tons of gleam, and a few good surface gathering spots as well. I’ve gotten over 100k emerald four times in a row with this, which is better than a few toxics I’ve run… mining along the amethyst/emerald border on these is VERY lucrative. General idea is to max ocean/sea with a lot of island shoreline for the amethyst spots, with deeper spots for the emerald out from shore - so no rivers (though rivers can be very good for amethyst on their own). I tweaked this one a bit from the one I posted in another thread, notes below.

Results of this build, run today - Planet is Amethystine, warp from Norkyna if you want to check it out.

No Rivers

Standard Caves 1 on all - This seems safest, I’m not seeing much lava in the mining spots with this pick.

lv. 4-
Gleam Lake

lv. 5-
Man-Made Islands
Ocean
Snowy Redwoods - This is one I swapped out. You can maybe put in Beaches instead, but what this does is, while as you can see on the chart not giving a HUGE count, gives some easy Stardrop farming. I’ve got a couple islands (haven’t mapped it all yet) on this with them, pretty flat biome.

lv. 6-
Clam Ocean
Coral
Island Trees - The canopies on these in particular will give you great farming, with the trumpet roots and glow caps.
Kong Island
Lantern Field - More a safe pick than a particularly good one, if you want something else maybe swap this out.

lv. 7-
Bridge Islands
Mouldy Sea
Tiny Islands

lv. 8-
Floating Shrapnel - Go with this if you want to really light up the rental. Otherwise Gleam Rain or Sky Pattern might be better, as the Shrapnel doesn’t seem good for gem spots underneath.

Ruby Mine
Description: T6 Burn. Rubies are tricky. Really, only a few biomes on this one are going to be your spots for them, but if it goes well you could have some good ones. I’ve gotten the highest % for ruby out there with this, last one with this build tied the other one (Snowball) I recently did. This planet is Mace, warp Norkyna -

Standard Caves 1 on all, same reason as the last, seems safest, though others might have more info on this.

lv. 4-
Ok, this part is tricky. For rubies, big thing really is not messing up the few good biomes for this with high elevation ones merging into it. For this one, I took both No Man’s Land and Gleam Lake. The former wasn’t particularly good but safe, the latter, well, it gives lava, but might as well also get some gleam spots I figure!

lv. 5-

Beaches
Graveyard - THIS is going to be the prime area for rubies, from my tests. Hope the RNG rolls you a lot!
Snowy Redwoods - It won’t give you Stardrops on a burn, but actually is pretty decent for rubies.

lv. 6-
Alien Invasion - This spawns a NASTY ground biome along with it, horrible to traverse, tons of twisted trunks covering the ground. But it is decent on rubies.
Island Trees - For lack of too many good choices here, might as well get some good farming with your rental.
Lantern Field - More a safe pick than a good one, avoiding messing others up.
Mushroom Forest - Seemed ok with this one.

lv. 7-
Giant Slice - Went with this as a safe, flat pick - gives some good building land, too.
Corrupt Trees
Cube Field - Mixed results but can have some good rubies, and provides some safe gleam farming.

lv. 8-
Gleam Rain

I put a portal up to get to your planets. I was considering making my own planet and may still do it but at the same time I’m a bit worried about trying it out and just having a planet I dislike

Great!! To my Alcyon hub at Paka’s Palace? I’m glad if those portals there can be of use! Actually just added some more free ones last night, that must have been you I saw if so when doing so!

Anybody interested, even if not in the market for your own planets, all of mine are open for public collecting and I’m truly happy if they can be of use. Also, for any that I have portals to at Alcyon (unfortunately these two in the initial post are Norkyna but still doing some testing  ), if you want to have a little one-stop shopping and have a place on Alcyon, have those free portals there. Come join in on my new lil’ hub there!

This is very thoughtful :relaxed:

Is anyone gathering screenshots and whatnots of all the biomes for visual reference? Would probably require its own site or blog page I guess but I’m pretty much waiting on something like that before I make my creative world.

Well really I’m waiting until I complete some obligations, but hoping there will be a good reference tool by then.

I did my best to document the biomes on my world here: [Chromis I] --[T3 - Rugged Lush Sovereign World]-- [Active]

That should have at least an okay picture and description for each of the biomes there. I think the only one I missed was Strata Slice.

Is it possible to have white metamorphic rock or white ancient wood

I think it is no on the metamorphic rock - read only sedi is possible, and only on a T6 gem with a very small chance. Not sure on the wood?

Edit: Playing with a Blast build now, doing another experiment. If this works out well will post the build.

Still mining on your world’s. Ancient wood trunk or any other is what I meant for white wood. Someone else grabbed a free portal in your alcyon hub and was asking about color blocks

Ah, gotcha! I don’t think white wood of any sort is an option, if so I’ll take it on the next test… I’ve seen it on exos a good bit though, at least white twisted wood, don’t think I’ve seen white ancient yet.

I’m hoping I might get very lucky and unlock the white sedimentary rock. Almost all my tests have been T6 gems, which are the ones that have a chance to get it. If I or another get it, I’ll put it on a T1 so people can quarry it.

Here is a Blast build that should get you SOME good diamond hotspot.

Once again, no rivers, Standard Caves 1 on all. Mined the big hotspot here some and it was great, and didn’t see lava, though wasn’t in there a really long time.

Basically, the lv 8 biome here, Olympus, is going to give you the best spots. Floating mountain is good too. With the large spots you should get, can probably sacrifice some of the others if you want some good building and collecting land. Personally, I’m going to go ahead and swap in Gleam Lake next roll - I want to try for this build on Alcyon, and keeping long-term if I get a good one, nice to have an extra gleam farm.

These are the two I just rolled. Will update with resource totals once they have been spawned. Looking back, I probably should have thrown in the snowy redwoods for stardrops but I’m hoping that ice levels surprises me. Wanted to document these biomes before I forget them. Will update the Emerald one in a bit but overall not really ecstatic with how the RNG went. Definitely won’t use some of these biomes in the future. Angular mountains really messed with the biome generations more than I thought it would. And the gleam rain biome has all the rocks in the sky but so far not a single piece of gleam in it lol. Glad I did the gleamball biome just in case. The gleam spiral turned out nice.

The worlds as far as aesthetics though, it’s a fun biome selection. It feels like the more fun you make the world, the bigger impact it has on resources. But that’s just a feeling. Nothing to back that up with.

My most recent planet, Hyrule, a Blast, came out a lot better than the previous template I posted despite removing some high elevation biomes… 600k diamonds, and it LOOKS cooler too. And it can give you some rubies too, though not too many, as Graveyard for whatever reason gives decent spots for them. Biomes like Maze 2 really look cool in the valleys. I didn’t jot it down but I’m pretty sure I’m remembering this right-

Standing River is probably my favorite Biome for lava layer planets. Absolutely empty space except for mile high rivers reaching across lava at the bottom and forming a bunch of rock? where the water hits the lava providing pathways to run straight across the lava.

I’m not sure which biome it is but it’s providing large ash islands with the weeping wax caps spawning along with perch? I think I dont remember Might have been trumpets…

How do you get the resource totals? In game is the only see %%.

The way I have been getting it is:
you need to be joined to the Portal Seekers discord channel.
Set your world settings to public.
Wait 15 to 30 minutes (30 if you’re unlucky) for the servers to talk to each other as I understand it, and then the discord bot will supply the information.
