The “empty” worlds and the abandoned cities can be a bit daunting, but the main reason those happen is because everything is SO HUGE.
Just one world has so much space, and there are tons of them.
And you did the right thing, look for other players, make your own little corner in the world, but join in with others. And yes, hunting is a great way to start that. Welcome!
