I don’t know how many times I’ve found a shop or a location, or needed to remember something between my machines and my storage and forgot. I completely lost a store yesterday because I don’t know where I found it.
Or, sometimes, I’ll begin doing something and stare at the mats I’ve crafted the next day, trying to remember what they were for.
So I would like an in-game notebook for…erm…notes!
It’ll never happen, but there it is anyway.
Frankly, I wisg quite a few games had this feature.
I feel you on this. There’s a lot of locations in the game. I think if we had books that we could write in that it would also help with this. I don’t know.
So far I’ve just been pulling up a Google Doc on a second monitor and just writing down notes of where things are.
Yea I have a pretty full location list because of needing to remember spots. Some of which are out of date too because the shop moved or the player quit
I have storage shelves full of location tokens I have saved from places I have been and wanted to remember. List only goes to 100, so make some tokens and store them before deleting.
I did see something earlier about books though, so you never know.
I feel your pain. Never will I ever go back to a single screen. x.x
I really wish consoles could evolve to multi-screen use. I actually wonder if that’s possible now days. If it is, I bet it’s a nightmare to setup. Sounds like it would be.
Damn. I need to get some monitors that big. Been a while since I’ve shopped for them but it’s mostly for content creation now that I’ve got a working microphone.
Anyways, enough being off topic for me.
Devs, give us notepads and books so we can write stuff down and have it stored in game so we don’t have to do it using some 3rd party software or real life tool.
Notepad sounds like an awesome idea!!! Quality of life=10 times the smiles!
I had that mod while playing Skyrim which was a book to write in, and that saved my tail I don’t know how many times! Recipes, areas where plant(x) is found. Heck I’d even write what I’d need to do the next time I logged, before I shut it down for the night.
As of now, I just use colornote widgets on my phone to keep everything organized. More so now with being a shop owner and guilds.
I have been using an app on my phone, and notepad on my computer. But I would love it if we had notebooks/journals we could write in. Some games I played I loved this feature and future installments never brought them back (North American original release of Animal crossing is at the top of the list here).
I write books as a sort of hobby (and wishful thinking that it could become my new day job), and I love the idea of writing books inside of a video game. I write mostly fantasy (swords & sorcery) and sci-fi so that would be a great fit for the game . I think if we can write in books they should be trade-able/sell-able so you could give people guides, poetry, history, and general entertainment they could take home with them.
Shameless plug, if you want to know what books I’ve written PM me on here I can get you more info, I just finished my first trilogy last fall.
Stack of notepads and pens beside me while playing, at all times! I make to do lists, stuff I want to remember or have easy access to like which boons I want to go for on which type of items, etc., etc.
Otherwise I would play even messier
Also, funny story, I was looking for something, then found a store that sold it, but wanted to look some more for cheaper prices. Finally decided that the store earlier would be the one where I would buy it from. For the life of me I didn’t know the name nor the location. Had been to so many places in such a short time I just didn’t know. Tried recreate my steps but after 15 minutes of frantic searching and running thru portals I remembered my PS4 saves the last 60 minutes of gameplay automatically so I watched that back and found it!
I also at times use the PS4 screenshot feature to take a screenshot of a shop or with the location coordinates if I don’t want to make my locations list even more cluttered…
I have this crazy thing that I do. I actually use a REAL pen and paper. It auto saves everything I write and it’s almost like using a different kind of controller when I’m flipping through the pages. Whoops, tmi
I dunno, I like using the ancient technology of a pencil and paper. I don’t have to worry about which alt had which note or be limited with not being able to use arrows or maximum characters…
It also doesn’t require any screen space or occupy my cursor and I can use it simultaneously with either computer
And best of all is the autosave feature!
I am not against this idea, just saying I wouldn’t really use it.
Aha now here is a good reason to have notepads/books in the game!
