After about 300 hours in, this is the one thing I want added

I have built my second base, taking everything I learned from my mistakes in the first base. One big difference with my new base is plenty of storage space and crafting machines… which brings me to my problem.

I want some sort of Pipe System for transferring items to/from storage/crafting machines.

If anyone played Tekkit or other modded Minecraft, you probably know what I am talking about. A pipe is attached to a machine, then when the items are done crafting, they move through the pipes. If the pipes are touching storage blocks, the item checks for a free space as it passes by and if there is an available spot, it deposits itself.

This can also be used for making a drop box, so that when you come home from a day of meteor hunting, you drop all of your items into a drop box, and then the items flow through the pipes to available storage blocks.

In one of these mods for Minecraft (don’t remember the name, sorry), there were pieces you could connect to the pipes to filter certain items. This way if you had a storage block with say Coal, you could filter it to only allow coal to enter that chest, while every other item would continue down the pipe to the next storage block.

I think enderio was the best in terms of least lag and sorting ability by having hard drives you could plug and play with. Enderio is literally the same concept as spark link, except lets you use a main monitor block to view all connected inventories.

Buildfactory had a transparent pipeline you could see items move through which caused a lot of lag

Definitely support this one.

I think it was industrial craft 2 that had all the pipe filters. That was such a time saver being able to dump your entire inventory into a chest and auto sort it into storage… once it was setup.

Any sort of pipe/conveyor belt system would open up so many creative options. And i dont think it makes it ‘too quick/easy’. I dont even want to know how many hours i spent farming mats and setting up really intricate systems to get them working… then realising i wanted more and spending twice as long tearing it all down to do it again.

I do remember there being the pipe that you could see all of the items through and that one did cause a lot of lag, but there was another pipe one that was good and you couldn’t see the items.

Well there is storage in machine itself that machine uses first before your inventory.

I get that, but my problem is that now I have like 30 crafting benches. So when I come home with a few smartstacks of rock and want to turn them to stone, it takes like 10 minutes to put it in each machine. Then when it’s done, I have to go to each machine and pull it all out. I want it so that I can either make all of the benches export the items to a single chest where I can pull it all out, OR even better, have it go to its proper storage place.

Well. They alrdy increased crafting queue from 20 to 30 wich is huge.
Good idea tough but i doubt its something thats high priority as the game survives without it

I wonder if since you get xp for crafting, the developers want you to have to expend some effort in order to get it versus just have resources piped to the machines? Not sure if anyone ever asked them.

Would be nice to dump my resources into a funnel and have them auto-sort. Filling up with resources right now because lots of thing don’t have much use or I can’t/don’t use them yet.

what if storage wall can turn into a big menu even a storage room
although your sugestion lets people be creative so i agree to it
but a menu for a entire storageroom sounds nice to

Yeah, like the ME System in modded minecraft. I was like a computer system that held storage for all of your items. Pretty involved to craft but totally worth it. And you could upgrade the storage by crafting larger hard drives.

storage portal tech

I’ll buy one for 100k PM me and meet at Ultima hub near the world hubs.
