Just wondering if there is any reason when you are killing mobs to use bows or fists in both L and R hands, or when mining if using hammers in L and R hands adds any benefit.

Magnetic/Autoharvest + Glow shovel on the off-hand while mining with a hammer on the main hand, so you can quickly mop up any dirt/sand/gravel that gets in the way.
Glow Grapple in one hand while bridge blocks/hammer in the other while cave exploring.
Dual grapple for spiderman action.
Edit:
Sniper Slingshot on one hand, for ranged mobs + AOE slingshot or power fist for wildstock.
And so on.
The exact same thing on both hands, however, I think only grapples benefit from that.
when AOE hammers where not that expensive (EA) then i used to have AOE hammer on right hand and then a not AOE on left to dig out ressources
Now this makes me want to find a magnetic glow shovel and glow grapple thanks lol
The best part is that if you never use it to dig, it will never lose durability. I made one that never leaves my off-hand (I would prefer +damage and then I’d use it to dig sometimes, but for now it does the job of replacing my torch amazingly well):
Fist weapons don’t really get action speed benefits but if you dual weild you can end up shooting faster by alternating fists.
when a block takes two hits to brake I sometimes use an iron hammer in one hand and a stone in the other to conserve the iron tools durability.
This has not been my experience. For me the off-hand one can only fire when the cooldown period of the main-hand one is over. This, in fact, seems to transfer over even to different weapons / tools, not just when dual-wielding but when switching from, say, fist to hammer, if you switch before the ‘reel in’ period is over.
I’m not saying that there isn’t an effect, it may very well be that it’s small enough that my less-than-ideal average ping makes it impossible to notice for me.
I have experienced much faster action dual wielding iron first, it can’t compare to one. It’s much much faster. Though you have to get good rhythm
thats a good idea
old skool technique when Gem hammers took like 75% of rock durability hahaha, it was a waste to hit them twice.
Sometimes you can whack something once with the expensive tool, then finish it off with a cheap one. It saves on durability.
This is absolutely spot on. You’re not handicapped by the single recharge but by the animation/physics part of the game waiting for the first first to finish there action. As long as you have semi useable twitch reflexes you can make use of it. I’ve got bad arthritis from heavy work when I was younger so my twitch skills are seriously lacking these days but I’m able to make use of the trigger fists on days that my hands aren’t too painful.
I use 2 gold fists for hunting on someones recomendation, along with max speed etc, the diference between 1 and 2 is night&day.
