After spending 5 hours (I’m not kidding) working with my alts to claim some of my son’s property and working around reserved plots and you can’t build here and you can’t remove this plot and where is the next connected plot and all of that frustration associated with sharing close space, I feel the need to post. I searched around for current mentions to the plot system, I did find dzchan’s thread here Plots and settlements but this still didn’t address the things that frustrated me so.
One, why can’t the plot removal and addition process by color coded? (ie. light blue for reserved, green for available, orange for wild, white for owned.) Everything being that opaque white (especially in gleamed areas) just gets so washed out, at times, it’s hard to tell what is going on.)
Two, for laggy connections, I can’t tell you how many plots I took accidentally because my character was spamming the action as I logged in to the world. Sometimes when you log in to the world from sanctum, there is a lag bug which causes you to spam actions, not so fun when you are throwing down plots. Can we put a timer to prevent plot management maybe for the first 30 seconds of login?
Three, why can’t your alts have special privilege where they can plot inside your beacon above and below and not need to worry about reserved space? I get it that it’s another character, but come on, everyone uses their alts to support their main builds. Or just give us more plots. Problem solved. I am going to level as many alts as you give me to have the plots for the builds I want. Its not about taking over a server, its about, ‘I build the way I want,’ this is Boundless. I realize there has to be a limit on all things, but then if you are going to give us alts anyways. . . you know how we are going to use them, for the most part, to support a build. So at least make that process less tedious.
And finally, wouldn’t it be cool if there was a way we could turn off terrain rendering or make the terrain wireframe as a mode within the plotting process where we could work in free camera view in the space of our beacon to see the array of our plots to see what plots are erroneous or superfluous and then add or subtract plots in this mode. It would really ease the burden of falling off the side of a mountain trying to peek at what plot is hanging in the air just around the bend.
Thanks for reading my book. I know we don’t want to upset the apple cart too much here, but I feel like something needs to adjust because that 5 hour waste of my day yesterday was a little ridiculous in light of what it actually accomplished.
