AVG Antivirus now detects boundless.exe as dangerous file

since the last patch/update i had AVG antivirus tell me that the boundless.exe file is dangerous.
boundlessexe
i have sended file reports to AVG to add to their database so it should be fine within the next couple of days.
just posting this here so that anyone that has the same issue knows that this is being solved.
the workaround for now is adding the exe to the safe list on your AVG antivirus

by going to Menu–>settings–>General–>exceptions–>add exception

Avast does it as well when switching between live and test versions. It’s most likely because it is detecting changes in the file between the new version and the version it has logged.

As you say, adding an exception will prevent it from happening again.

yeah it should be fine pretty soon, just in case.
and AVG is part of Avast since they took over AVG back in 2019

I started noticing this yesterday, so wanted to check if it happened with another game. In my case, I loaded up Gears 5 and a similar situation occurred, although eventually I was able to load the game without issue. Hopefully, the same thing will apply to Boundless.

from my experience avg will add it to the safe list pretty soon could be even today still
i myself have not yet experienced with anything else but then again this is the first time in boundless history
that an antivirus detects boundless as a dangerous file i think for me anyways

avg and avast are, well lets say not the best performing antiviruses softwares ;/ i suggest using some not free ones. like norton or f-secure or kaspersky. those are way better.

I just tried to log on because I need to repair some machines. This keeps popping up with my AVG.
I’ll give that exception a try.

i disagree, i have been with AVG for i think 10 years
i had some issues but hey every antivirus has its pros and cons right, but once u know how to work with avg or avast , they are good.
as for free i pay for it yearly
every antivirus probably is good. but i stick with avg xD

The only difference between the paid and free version of AVG is that the paid has a few extra features. But to bash on an Anti-virus because you don’t like it? That’s in bad taste and you should aspire to be better than that.

This seems like a silly fight lol

as for AVG they have checked and confirmed the file not to be harmful, it has been added to the database so if you like the exception can be removed and boundless will work like before.
