Beacon requestment and size

I’m mainly a ps4 player so most probably I’ll be picking up this game on console but I’ve been on and off about the early access on pc. My question has most probably been answered somewhere but there are just too many topics to check. My question is, how does the whole beacon area thing work? I mean I know in 1.0 you will be able to craft beacons(as you can do now) but what are their perimeters,as in block wise? Are the beacons requested from the devs bigger for like capital builds and will they be implemented in the main game? The reason for this is because since I am currently not in possession of the game I’m taking my time by drawing up blueprints and messing around in minecraft: I’ve always really wanted to make something big especially in a large MMO game(I’ve been designing some form of dwarven kingdom based of erebor from lotr in the form of some city or trade centre) and I wanted to know if I were to want to obviously keep this from harm I would need a beacon: could I just build multiple craftable ones (or just one) for such a big build or would I have to get a small clan of people and then all combine our beacons to protect it or could I just request a beacon from the devs. Plus would I request it before my build or after: as in would they need proof of the build before I request because this will take a long time to build even if I have help or could I find a nice area and just request one? I know this is a lot for one post but I’m kinda new to this game any answers at all would be appreciated. Thanks

ATM you can place 12 8x8x8 beacons but the devs said that this is only for now to get the feature tested. They also mentioned that the maximal number of your beacons might depend on your progression status (level?)

The dev placed beacons are a lot bigger than the beacns we can place now but they are (were) probably only a workaround while the devs worked on the actual beacons system. I highly doubt that they will manually place beacons after 1,0.

We don´t know how much space a single player will be able to cover with his beacons yet but I think you might need to group up with other players if you want to cover an entire kingdom. The devs also mentioned that there might be dedicated guild beacons that will be designed for such purposes (covering large areas for collaborative builds).

Thanks for the reply

Maybe they could add “Guild beacons” which would be like the normal cubic beacons except that by default the entire guild can edit. They could even have a system to give guilds more beacons as they grow. I feel like this might be a way to make big cities or at least interesting coordinated builds more viable post 1.0

A type of guild beacons were mentioned in a video or forum post somewhere, but no details on how they will work other than “bigger”.

Hope that the guild beacons will not be bound to guild size in area covered … Never was a fan of mega guilds - but of mega cities (or large castles)
