That could be but that move crippled both the old and the new city. The old city had 20 — 40, sometimes more people on it at any given time not matter what time of day it was. I have been to the new city on Eresho several times in the past few weeks when I was the only player in the entire town. Other times there are three or four.

The old town still has many of the amazing structures but everytime I visit there it is a total ghost town. I visit there often and haven’t seen another player in weeks.

I know a person who had purchased plots in the old city for uber amounts of money who was blindsided by the move. She quit and I doubt she will ever return. It is of course their town and they can do what they want. But in many ways I do not think the game has been the same since.

I respectfully disagree. If this happens the game will be over. Imagine paying money for gleam club to find out you lost your property anyway.

My advice would be to build around the pit of death. Transform this problem into an advantage. Use the pit of death as a tourist theme, with a little creativity, you can transform that area into a sanctuary in honor of our fallen brothers who died by the pit of death. In the construction leave an access or two, with a warning of the danger of skipping the protection zone. Having access to leave does not violate the rules of conduct in case the owner returns.

Did the player build the pits? Or by ‘left’ do you mean he didn’t cover them? I haven’t been to Kindred Bay in a long time, but there used to be dangerous pits all over the place that were there naturally. Especially near that bridge and its surrounding area

so where is the pit of death? directions?

I’m on the fence regarding the idea that some players of confiance to the devs could inherit moderation powers in-game.
I mean… it’s how things were done in Creativerse, but it’s also why we left. Not that the mods were bad or anything. Actually I followed a CV moderator to Boundless.
The “job” was getting to damn hard.

So when Havok says that :

I’m like “yup, sounds about right”.

But on the other hand, no system can replace moderators, as we do have some very sneaky trolls who likely use alternate accounts to make revenge-builds near other players when they’re frustrated by a debate on the forum. I’ve been on the receiving end of that myself, it can block your build’s progress for weeks, and it’s childish.

However, what this thread reminds me most of, it’s a neighbor I have who barely plays the game, has a very simple house, and still fuels it likely for 6 months with Gleam Club, and barely logs in once every few months. His house hasn’t changed at all since the beginning of the year, and I have no way to contact the player.

The best solution I can think of would be for the devs to add some kind mail-box system that sends you a notification on Steam or PSN to warn you that you got an in-game mail from a player… but even that sounds wrong/too intrusive to me.
So maybe there’s just no good solution there, and we just all have to deal with it, even though it’s really annoying.

I agree, the move to Eresho really hurt the game a lot.

Ok so, everyone pretty much repeating the same “build a wall” or taking the warden thing way out of context. Should probably read the comments before you just copy/paste unknowingly what 10 others have said.

A few people had ideas of rentable beacons say for malls and such.

Our problem with the hole has been fixed for awile.

Warden idea was just a way to have a more direct line to James rather then giving any real power to the players(president red phone).

Ideas for empty lots causing unrest was the only reason topic was made.

We have no current issues, but that dose not meen there isn’t more citys then ourselves dealing with it currently.

Looking outside of our own little piece of the game to help address problems others are facing and try to come up with ideas to fix them should be a slight priority. This is not a major issues, it’s a super tiny one, getting heated about it is really making this topic blow way out of proportion as there is nothing game breaking about talking.

I do thank you all for this hypothetical discussion, it was not self serving.

4 good ideas
50 complaints.

No, there is no problems in kindred bay, was along time ago, just hypothetical all the way.

Glad you got it all worked out :+1:t3:

Heh, less of a problem, more of a return to try and damage. That person also reported themselves, thinking they would be in the right. So was kinda funny.

and you can always just unplot everything around the market and make building their shops a complete waste of time.
