T6 - Alcyon; that way you can get diamonds and stuff while you mine hard coal

I like Malu for hard coal, because the diamonds you get while mining it, like Krollbar said for Alcyon. Diamond mining on Serp also gets a pretty good amount.

Depending on the exo make-up, they can easily be amazing for one specific material type, yeah.

I know when I go T7 fossil mining I come home with 12-15 SS of soft-medium coal

yes, malu is very good for hard coal
